A State Department official offered a "quid pro quo" deal if the FBI would change the classification of a Hillary Clinton email, FBI documents indicate.

Patrick Kennedy, an undersecretary of state, had asked the email be downgraded to a lower category.

In exchange, an FBI agent said, Mr Kennedy offered to accept an FBI request for extra agents at foreign diplomatic posts.

      • Scott Foval and Robert Creamer, two little-known but influential Democratic political operatives, have left their jobs after video investigations by James O'Keefe's Project Veritas Action found them entertaining dark notions about how to win elections. Foval was laid off Monday by Americans United for Change, where he had been national field director; Creamer announced Tuesday night that he was “stepping back” from the work he was doing for the unified Democratic campaign for Hillary Clinton.

The moves came after 36 hours of coverage, led by conservative and social media, for O'Keefe's video series “Rigging the Election.” In them, Foval is filmed telling hidden-camera-toting journalists about how they have disrupted Republican events. Foval also goes on at length about how an organization might cover up in-person voter fraud.

        ...

The result of all that was that the “Rigging the Election” videos got a skeptical reception — at first. But the video of Foval, a Wisconsin-based politico with a long résumé, had him bragging about a litany of political dirty tricks. In the first video, he boasts of “conflict engagement in the lines of Trump rallies,” takes credit for the violence that canceled a Trump rally at the University of Illinois at Chicago, admits he has paid “mentally ill” people to start trouble and says there's a “Pony Express” that keeps Democratic operatives in touch, regardless of whether they work for super PACs or the campaigns not permitted to coordinate with super PACs.

In the second video, Foval spends five minutes discussing how voters might be brought from outside Wisconsin to commit voter fraud, buying cars with Wisconsin plates to avoid looking suspicious. “We've been busing people in to deal with you f---ing a--holes for 50 years, and we're not going to stop now,” he says.

Most likely not voting. The liberals keep trying to get me to vote for Trump though.

            • C0ckney, the leaks, etc. are not particularly damning, as none of them that I've seen touch Clinton directly. Even the WaPo video only implicates some schmuck, not Hillary herself.

More interesting to me is the question of whether the polls will simply revert to the mean now that the debates are over.

well that's why you have lackeys, so that when your shady dealings are exposed there's a fall guy/girl in place.

talking of shady dealings, i wonder what the king of morocco's $12million bought him...

anyway, lots of interesting email stuff has come out, but i thought these maps show very well the stark racial divides that are emerging.

Nobody cares about your trumped claims about emails which aren't damaging or even particularly interesting. Try to find some new material. By the way, white men are no longer the key factor in elections so that map is useless. I am sure it was the same way for Obama.

                        • You are citing OKeefe? And an article discussing two low levels who aren't influential at all? You aren't helping your own credibility.

one of the most interesting things from my point of view is the exposure of just how much collusion there is between the corporate media and the clinton campaign. and the same media organisations try to present themselves as neutral, though in fairness several have given up even the pretence of being so. whatever happens in november, i think this election has destroyed people's trust in the mainstream media, which wasn't exactly high to start with, and that is likely to have consequences.

                            • How about you bring up Mike Pence misusing state police to delete people off voting rolls? Oh wait that's right. It doesn't fit your narrative.

                              • the use of agents provocateurs to stir up trouble and then blame the other side for it is something that happens here quite a lot. i've personally witnessed a situation at a protest where some guys started a big kerfuffle, and then ran towards the police lines and were then let through with no issue while chaos reigned in their wake. one doesn't need to call in poirot to solve that mystery! and the media dutifully reports it as 'violence started by protesters/anarchists'. i was rather surprised to see the same tactics being employed by one mainstream party/candidate against another.
