  • What was with your "if I answer your perfectly reasonable question then you might rape a hamster" horse****? That was bizarre even by your standards

I don't believe in saying things that cause people to sin.

      • If everyone is allowed to kill whoever they want, no one is safe. So we decide as a society that murder is bad, because we all want to be safe. Thus we've defined morality.

You can use any reasoning you want for "WHY NOT DO X?" It doesn't have to be "Because God said so."

Name a God who doesn't have morals.

        • No, there are no true atheists. Atheists claim to believe in using only reason and logic, as if doing so causes all people to come to the same conclusions. Everyone knows that this is not what happens. Reason, as it is used in practical terms, does not cause people to come to the same conclusions.
I believe that atheism is a rational position. I also believe that Christianity is irrational. The statement, "I don't believe God exists because I cannot see him", is a wholly reasonable position given the predicate, "things that I can see are the measure for what exists.

There is nothing illogical about that preposition because it is self-consistent.

The problem arises in epistemology. Christianity never states that reason is the ultimate way in which Christians obtain knowledge of God. It is important, yes, but it is not the only way. Ergo, Christians are not bound by the preposition that all Christian prepositions ought to be reasonable.

But atheists believe in things that they can't see. Show me an atheist that doesn't believe in Dark Matter.

Why did you thank him if doing so is crazy?

                    • Believing in God is the best way to explain the universe. I don't consider atheists rational. That said, BK is not wrong considering his view of how to believe in Christ, and how to obey God.

Many don't consider people who believe in fantasy religions rational...

Where does your faith take you?

                            • It says something when neither Kid nor Aeson can disagree with the post Of course, I could just quote Kant as well. Reason is a tool. It helps us measure things. But we don't use it for everything and nor should we.

Faith makes the assertion that there are things which exist which are outside of our perception and that they may remain so forever.

Maybe the most damning evidence against atheism is the evidence of the "self-fulfilling prophecy." I'm talking about studies in cognitive dissonance theory and self-perception theory. The truth is that atheism is bad for society, and because it's bad for society it is not rational.
