  • Oh that's when Italy was liberated.
Yeah sure. "liberated". Funny - the Americans actually paid for most of their land, but the Italians couldn't be bothered to do the same.

What verse did Jesus say he was fine with Roman soldiers or soldiering in general? Jesus was executed for claiming to be the Messiah, how was Jesus innocent of the charge? Where did Jesus endorse war?

      Who did we pay?

      • Who did we pay
You paid the Spanish, Mexicans, British, French and Russians. Only territory you didn't pay for was Guadaloupe-Hildago which you took as war spoils for the Mexican War. Which technically was an extension of the Tex-Mex independence war. That, plus the original 13 east of the Appalachians, which the British ceded.

Jesus was innocent of the charge of sedition as he wasn't claiming to be an earthly king. As for soldiering, he never told the soldier to leave his position and come follow him. He did tell the rich man to give up his wealth.

Funny how that isn't your personal crusade... something Jesus actually talked about.
To us, it is the BEAST.

He also said that it had to be voluntary, not taken from others at the point of a gun.

But we didn't pay the people who actually owned the land, we paid people who stole it too

He wasn't found innocent and the soldiers dont make that determination anyway, and Messiah means king of the Jews. So what verse did Jesus say he was fine with soldiers doing their soldiering, you know, killing Jews?

The people who owned the land are the people whom the US bought it from. If they didn't, how could the US have bought it from them?

Where does he condemn a soldier for his profession?

We didn't buy the land from the owners, we bought it from the thieves, when we weren't stealing it ourselves of course... We paid Europeans to relinquish whatever claims they were making to lands owned by other people. We paid them to get out of the way, they had no rightful claim to those lands in the first place.

The Golden Rule, all that talk about love and peace, the meek, not resisting evil-doers... Now where did Jesus say he was fine with some guy being a soldier?

Given that all current title in the US is subsidiary to this, are you arguing that no one truly owns land? The purchasee is not responsible for how the purchase was obtained - we don't jail them for legitimately buying something, especially land, when it turns out their seller did not actually own it. Nor does it make the purchaser a thief.

Call me when you give your land away.

                            ...
Well, the land was rightfully owned by the indian tribes of the regions.
Partially the indians were scammed out of their possession of the land, by being forced to sign treaties that they didn´t fully understand ... and partially they were forcefully deposited (and often relocated into reservates with bad, infertile land) when they didn´t want to sign any treaties.

Not to mention those tribes that were enslaved and forced to convert to the christian faith ... with the help of christian missionaries/priests

                            • The purchaser IS responsible for where the purchasee bought the goods.
If he knows it's from thieft he's a thieft acceptor.
                              Very bad.
Having killed the one he stole it from, doesn't make things better, it's worse.
