Putin is actually being pretty stupid here. Turkey had not gone along with EU sanctions on Russia and when Russia banned many EU imports Turkey was one of the key countries they turned to in order to find replacements for EU food products. Now Turkish goods will be banned and Russia's 20% a year inflation on food items will get even worse. Currently about 50% of the income of your average Russian house is spent just on food.

This will now get worse especially if the Turks decide they want to close off the straights for any ships going to or from Russian ports. Putin is his own worst enemy.

It is pretty funny how Putin is just flat out lying about not only the plane's route but also is lying about where the plane crash is located on the ground. Like Putin's lies when Russia shot down that civilian airliner or when he invaded the Ukraine his lies don't even remotely square with reality. ****, there is even tape of the Turks warning the pilot no less than 10 times and this has been varified by the US, Israel, and the UK.

It is sad how Putin treats his own people like drooling idiots but maybe they deserve it as they always go along with the lies their dictator invents.
