The only way in which ww2 was interesting was because it shattered the modernist thought of science will solve everything (which was a common aspect of both liberalism and communism, although nazism and communism were both children of modernism)
I find aspects today, in the meridian line that divides europe between an ascetic, dehumanizing in some aspects north and a romantic civilized (and for that somewhat anarchistic) south*
(not that the tax system doesn't need fixing)
*actually that's pretty much the only think that makes the european project still somewhat intriging. wether those differences can merge or wether they will tear it apart

Although the thought that the nazis were true children of modernism and rational thought kind of stumps on both their paganist supernatural beliefs as well as their irrational destruction of the jewish community (instead of using it, to win)
OK! So you are polite American murderer and I am just a Siberian jerk who DO HAVE FUN by saying you the truth about yourselves. Once again - we were too busy by recovering our country during the last 25 years (and honestly we are far from over yet), but you have broken our patience limit really. Enough is enough. It's better to die in a nuclear fire fighting, than sit and do nothing watching what kind of hell you are dragging the world in.
And 95% of Americans don't even realize what I am talking about. Your bad.
And I am not threatening, I'm extrapolating.
You've said this many times. What kind of world do you think they would lead us to unchecked? It's worse than a nuclear post apocalyptic nightmare clearly, but I have trouble imagining just which scenario you might be imagining frankly once I realize that any such scenario must compare unfavorably to nuclear holocaust. For you personally what do you imagine might change for the worst in such a world..one where they have been allowed to drag us into.
Some of the 95% may be embarrassed to not know these things. help them out!
BTW a good friend of mine is married to a Ukrainian woman (they met in America so, no, she was not a mail order bride) and she has very bad thing to say about the USSR and Russia both. She is not a mindless nationalist and tends to make good points. She is from the far west of Ukraine though.
Does it really surprise you that Russia is extremely disliked in the Ukraine after they invaded the country and started a war? I bet if you polled the people you would find they have a very low opinion of Russia indeed. It wasn't always this way but this is what Putin's actions have brought about.
From the BBC link:
Controversial weapon - Jonathan Marcus, BBC diplomatic and defence correspondent
YouTube video from the fighting in Syria has thrown up images of a rarely seen Russian weapons system - the TOS-1 "Buratino" multiple rocket launcher.
Described by the Russians as a "heavy flame-thrower", it is a highly controversial weapon and its appearance in Syria raises the question as to who is actually operating it.
The TOS-1 fires a 220mm rocket that is designed to carry a thermobaric warhead. Sometimes known as a "fuel-air explosive" the rockets detonates at a set altitude above the ground, releasing a cloud of fuel which is then ignited by a second explosion.
This creates a huge temperature and pressure wave whose impact has been likened to a low-yield nuclear explosive.
It is very much an indiscriminate weapon, typically used to support offensive operations by blanketing given areas with fire. Thermobaric weapons were used to devastating effect by the Russians in Afghanistan.

Have you actually checked the polls?
