It seems a proxy war is well under way in Syria.

As much as I dislike Assad, I think the Russian approach will prove a better solution that the western approach. Syria is on the verge of disintegration. It seems Assad is better than the alternative of a multi-sided civil war followed by years or decades of "post conflict" animosities. A civil war fanned and fueled by external players.

Edit. I mean an Afghanistan style civil war with no functioning central government. A sort of anarchy that lead to the Taliban controlling much of the country with the Northern Alliance controlling a part of the country. Who wants a Syrian Taliban?

But if Assad gets continued support from the Russians, I don't see him allowing the country to move to a Federation. He only allows that if there is credible opposition. With the Russians help, he can eliminate it. Those six support troops the Americans trained are not enough to form a credible opposition.

Nah! We can force him to. 'cause it is the only way for a peace. No one says there are no internal problems in Syria at all. We need Syria as a stable and secularized country as it once was. For our own national interests. Be it Federation or not is another question of course. But! The Kurds FOR SURE will not give-up, they will simply not accept the return to pre-war status quo. Nobody would allow them to be forced via military means (that would have been a bloodbath), well, except Turkey of course. So, in case of victory, Kurds will have a great autonomy for sure, but that is not exactly a solution, 'cause they want their own state. And that state, the Kurdistan should unite all Kurds, which means parts of the Turkey and Iraq should become parts of it. That's why it's a mess. And I have no idea how to solve it, cause just a federation in Syria is clearly not enough and the other sides will never give-up parts of its territory.
It's just a one big, f*cking mess.

I suggest humanity to wake-up, think for a second and ask itself - what the f*ck am I doing? Because we are going exactly to the point where we were before and it seems we haven't learn't anything from the lessons of history as always. But this time we are going to make our last mistake.

Tell me, answer this simple question:
If Capitalism is such a perfect way for humanity, what would happen, when BILLIONS of Chinese and Indian people will reach the consumption rates of the Western society?

And this is where they are going to and going pretty fast. In any way - that is their goal - to improve the living standards of their citizens to the levels of the western countries. And this is perfectly right goal! Why should they live in poverty, if you are drowning in luxury? They work hard, their economy is growing every year, their living standards improve year by year.
And all that demands more and more and more resources. Right?
So, what would happen to the planet, if BILLIONS would have all the living standards you have now in Germany or in US? A big house for any family, few cars in garage,etc, etc.
Is our planet have enough resources for let's say three BILLIONS people who have the same living standards as modern 350 million Americans?

OF COURSE NOT!

Therefor the one who have such standards now will either kill the competitors to preserve their (Western) way of life, which automatically means fascism (and fascist propaganda you call your "free western media") OR the whole humanity should seriously reconsider the untouchables of Capitalism and society of consumption as the only and proper way for the development of human civilization. And the only possible way there is Communism, modernized and cleansed from its past mistakes, because the fascist way will lead to a death of entire human race for sure. 100% guaranteed.
