    Oxymoron.

This is really Russian government propaganda I think.
Actually, there were two international polls in Crimea, and they both confirmed that absolute majority of Crimeans wanted reunification with Russia. So it's internationally confirmed that referendum was solid and democratic, it was a true Will of the People.

That post of yours also confirms that you're against democracy. Now every single time you post something about democracy in this thread, i'll feel free to remind you that you're against it.

Not arming them. That's old news. ArmED them. And then Turkey decided to attack Kurds, and USA decided to dump Kurds into the dumpbin of history, also known as "former retarded allies of USA". But that's a recent news, you may not have heard them from your western propaganda. After all, "free western democratic press" is slow on the uptake when the West betrays another ally.

      Democracy

Pure irony because Putin murders people who speak out against him, like journalists.

        ...
Hm ... so you would be O.K., if we would hold international Referenda for russian regions (for example Chechnya or Dagestan) whether they want to remain part of russia ... and you will accept the result if the majority of people there wants to leave and allow th region to become independent (or even to attach itself to another neighboring state)?

        • Oh, I am sure that would go over well especially with foreign troops occupying the place.

Yup. We'll be better without them anyway. And they clearly don't share our values, and don't want to start doing it. They had like 300 years to start doing it, but they didn't. Instead they fallen back to feudalism and tribalism the moment Moscow loosened control over the region. If they want to live their lives like worst parts of Africa, let them be.

            • By the way, let's not forget that Hitler was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize after West fed him Czechoslovakia and Austria. So, obviously, at that moment Hitler was totally a good guy for the West. Like, the best friend kind of guy. Like Barack Obama, for example.

And Putin thinks he is a peaceful democratic guy... More like murderer.

They may just have been trolling him. Hitler had recently passed a law that banned any German accepting a Nobel prize.

Wasn't that the same year that Stalin signed a non-aggression pact with that nice man? Let's not forget.

Putin on the other hand doesn't seem to share your opinion.
In Karelia (the part of russia bordering finland) a man was arrested and sentenced to 3 years in prison just because he called for a referendum for the secession of Karelia from russia:
A local official in the northern republic of Karelia has been brought to trial on charges of inciting separatism after criticizing the local government and the Kremlin in an emotional speech.

The ground on which he arrested is a new law that was signed by Putin in 2015, which makes calling for separatism illegal in all parts of russia.
With other words, once a region is part of russia, it is never ever able to leave, no matter what its citizens wish

                        I'm not Putin.

Also, Deputy Zavarkin got a 450$ fine, that's it. He's still a deputy (or people's deputy? i'm not sure how to translate it), for example.

                        • Totally ignoring the fact that Putin made it illegal to call for a referendum to secede from Russia.
