n July 2015, Russia's investigative committee repeated the allegation, saying the missile "was not produced in Russia". And this version was widely promoted by Russian state TV, with one channel even showing an experiment involving a fighter jet firing on an old plane.

But then the story switched, and Russian missile company Almaz-Antey blew up another plane to prove MH17 had been downed by a BUK surface-to-air missile.

In another apparent chess move, Moscow was now arguing that MH17 was brought down by a rocket launched from Ukrainian government-held territory, although it acknowledged it was missile made by Almaz-Antey.

I like how that propaganda outlet mixes Russia, Almaz-Antey and Moscow But the reason for that is simple - Russia says it's not Russia, and Almaz-Antey says that if it's a missile from a Buk, it's not an Almaz-Antey's missile. That's why they use different arguments.

And by the way, Moscow didn't ever acknowledged that it was missile made by Almaz-Antey. And Almaz-Antey specifically said that it's not a missile produced by Almaz-Antey, because Almaz-Antey didn't exist when that modification of a missile was designed and produced (be it 9М38 that was USSR design and production, or 9М38M1, that was designed and produced before the creation of Almaz-Antey).

Actually, Almaz-Antey arguments were different:

Damage to bulkheads (and specifically, damage to two consecutive bulkheads in a row) may only be explained by a penetration elements of a missile going along a Boing, so a missile must be aligned in a certain way for that kind of damage.

Something has hit a left wing and a left engine, and engine was hit by a penetration elements of a missile, not by a derbis or a fragments of a missile. The holes in a front engine ring and then an engine structural elements say that it should be a small square object with a very high penetration power 30 meters away from an explosion of a warhead, so it must be a direct hit by one of a main penetration elements of a missile.

That's in addition to that it was an older type of a missile - found bow tie fragments are too thin. According to a test, they may lose 10-15% of their mass, not 3/4 of their thickness. And there are no bow tie shaped holes in a hull.

Actually, the key difference is the asimuth and elevation of a wahead, not it's position.

The Russian specialists worked out a wide area to the south and south-east of the town of Snizhne. The Ukrainians determined a significantly smaller area but within the area identified by the Russians.

DSB said that this area was calculated by Almaz-Antey based on DSB data, not on their own. So, there is a second launch location calculated by Almaz-Antey, this time calculated on Almaz-Antey data (azimuth, elevation and coordinates of a warhead).

The Dutch say that the Russians have simply got it wrong, basing their "calculations on an incorrect detonation point and orientation of the weapon resulting in an incorrect missile trajectory".

Then they should at least explain what hit a left engine and a left wing of a Boeing. So far only DSB calculation according to Almaz-Antey azimuth, elevation and coordinates of a warhead shows it, it's on their picture A.7 in appendix Y.

And Putin just required the fertilizer companies to cut prices by a further 1/3rd so that it is now below the cost of production. That policy didn't work out well for Venezuela and it won't turn out well for Russia. That means the companies lose money on every domestic sale and the only thing keeping them afloat are exports but Putin is talking about limiting their exports via a lace sing requirement. Was an autonomous republic in SU and has started its war fro independence right after the collapse of SU 'cause it was ALWAYS a hostile towards Georgia, where it was included thanks to stupid Soviet authorities (actually Stalin) who had included Abkhazia into Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic (GSSR - an independent country of Georgia after collapse of the USSR) only for administrative reasons.

South Ossetia - absolutely the same, with the only exception that Ossetia, a single people was divided by Soviet administrative borders to Northern Ossetia (part of RSFSR) and South Ossetia (part of GGSSR).

LNR/DNR - parts of the Russian Empire, a historical parts, populated by Russians for centuries, and it is still so - the absolute majority of the population there are Russians. The only reason these lands (as well as the rest of Novorossiya) have became a part of of the modern Ukraine, is that 1920's the Bolsheviks have included them into a newly formed Ukrainian Soviet Socialistic Republic - USSR (which became a modern Ukraine now after 1991). Why did they do that is another question, but the fact is - it's a historical Russian land populated by Russians. And since those Russians lived in one state (USSR) - there was no problem at all - they spoke their native language, etc. But suddenly, overnight, they have became in another country they have no relation to.

It has became a part of USSR only due to ILLEGAL (in accordance with the Soviet laws of that time) decision of Khrushev to give it to USSR in 1954 as a gift to the 300 anniversary of unification of Ukraine with Russia. Khrushev was an idiot, but as long as both USSR (Ukraine) and RSFSR (Russia) were the same country USSR (United Soviet Socialist Republics) - there was no any difference, that "gift" was only a formality. And Sevastopol was NEVER a part of Ukrainian SSR even after that Khrushev's gift. It was a "city of Union's Importance/ Город Союзного Значения) - an independent subject of federation (just like a state in US or like Moscow and St. Petersburg and again Sevastopol now in the Russian Federation). Ukraine in 1991 had no single right for Sevastopol, still she took it thanks to Eltsin. What had happen in 2014 was a DESIRE of the population of Crimea, THEIR WILL, and correction of the historical injustice don first by Khrushev in 1954, then by Eltsin in 1991.
