What? Russia is an empire. How the hell empire is supposed to exist if we're nationalists? Just look at the Poland and Lithuania, for example. They ceased to be an empire because they are nationalists - Poland is a mononational state, and Lithuania tries to become one.

The real story is that Putin and Russia are for "countryism" (independent countries should strive to protect their own inerests more than they are doing it now). Capitalists are for globalism (international corporations exploiting weak countries).

So, naturally, capitalists and their talking head Clinton are against any efforts to reduce exploitation of weaker independent countries (as usual in a world history), so it marks Russian efforts for the better of humanity as "nationalist", even if there is nothing nationalistic in them.

You can't really say NATO because in Iraq they had albania poland and however else as "allies".

In fact, they had no allies apart from the UK if participation is measured.

By the way, where does Russia rank GDP per capita wise? I can't imagine too well. Decaying country with a demographic crisis worse than any in modern history. It is so bad a third of the Russian army isn't even fit enough to fight.
