That PEW Poll is the source. Isn't terrorism and who supports it a conversation worth having? Even if if the knee jerk reactions of some liberals is to try to avoid it and, wrongfully, screaming racism?

Here is something else to consider. Did you know that anti-Semtic attacks in western Europe are at an all time post WW2 high especially in France, Germany, and the UK? DId you know that 74% of the Jewish pepole in France say they are seriously considering leaving the country because of the surge in anti-Semtic violence almost entirely caused by muslims? So many of them say life is becoming unlivable for them that France is now the #1 source of immigrants to Israel and emigration from France by Jews is also at a post WW2 high.

Isn't this a problem worth talking about? Isn't their concerns about constantly being harrayed and attacked by muslim thugs legitiment? If it is so bad that they feel they have to leave in record numbers then why the hell isn't the French government doing anything about it?

Your link doesn't even support your blatantly racist argument, you numbskull!

Firstly I can't even find this mystically 35% you're claiming!

        Where is it...?

What I can find is that under 'Unfavourable Ratings for Extremist Groups'

Only 13% of Muslims support Al Qaeda and the Taliban

Hamas and Hezbollah are more complicated, because they're far more than just 'terrorist' organisations - but even there their support differs wildly depending on the Muslim sect - for example 89% of Shia in support of Hezbollah, compared to 94% of Sunni against (yes Oerdin, these brown people you hate so much come in lots of different types and beliefs!)...

Or was it 'Muslim Views on Suicide Bombing'...?

Hmmm, let's pick the two most populous Muslim nations in the world and see what their views are to the question: 'suicide bombings can be justified'...

        Indonesia 6%
        Pakistan 3%

Wow, Oerdin, your own poll is mutinying against you!

Christ, this PEW poll is so thorough that the next two most populous muslim countries (India & Bangladesh) weren't even polled...

        You're a ****ing joke!

        • You're wanting to exclude and entire group of people just because a small minority of them support terrorism - that's knee-jerk racism of the highest order!

What about Norwegians? Are you going to ban them too because of Anders Brievik?

What about banning people from Michigan and New York from the rest of the US because of the Oklahoma Bombings?

What is terrorism anyway? This guy was labeled a terrorist in Saudi Arabia for promoting freedom of speech and is getting 1,000 lashes because of it.

Saudi Arabia, the US' staunchest ally...

And apparently Israel's wanton murder of thousands of civilians and destruction of Gaza isn't terrorism...

          • As for these attacks against jews in Europe? Yes there's been a rise because of extremist racist ****wits going around attacking them - but what about the attacks on muslims at the same time!? I wouldn't be surprised if they're not just as bad if not worse - I mean you want to attack them all by restricting their freedom of movement - their human rights, because you're behaving just as badly as the people attacking the jews...

And how many jews are we talking about here: how many have been killed, for example, where is this new jewish 'holocaust' you're talking about!?

And besides, who are the greatest victims of muslim extremism anyway...?

            I'll give you clue: muslims!!!

Thousands of muslims are being killed in countries as diverse as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Nigeria etc and it's barely reported in the west - let alone the ignorant US news channels

And anyway, aren't you more shocked about the US poll I linked that showed that the majority of Americans (you included) are explicitly racist?

Or that 42% of Americans believe in Creationism...!!!

Anyone in the 21st century who believes in Creationism is a mental ****** - or has been brainwashed since birth...

Or that only 19% of the same poll believe that humans evolved, but God had no part in the process.

My point is that your average person is a moron, as you have so adequately exhibited with your shockingly ignorant racist views...

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that you're more dangerous than the likes of people like Ben, because at least he's an obvious nutter! You're the kind of person that I imagine one day wigging out and murdering a bunch of muslims and everyone being so shocked because 'he was so normal'...

            F*ck off Oerdin!

              • OK, now this one is truly ****ed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nearly 30% of Americans advocate for an armed rebellion

                ...against the US government!!! OMFG!!!

Nearly one-third of Americans say an armed revolution might need to occur in the next few years to prevent an escalating war against constitutional liberties, a new study finds.

Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind surveyed 863 US residents randomly in late April and found that 29 percent of those polled believe a revolution isn’t just imminent but imperative.

According to the study, 29 percent of Americans agree that “an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties” during the next few years. Forty-seven percent said they disagreed with the statement entirely, with one-fifth of the sample saying they weren’t sure how to answer.

When quizzing only the most conservative of respondents, though, the call for revolution is supported by a much more significant chunk of the sample pool. PublicMind found that 44 percent of Republicans polled in the survey agree that an armed revolt is the answer to an apparent infringement of liberties. By comparison, 27 percent Independents agreed with the statement, as did only 18 percent of Democrats polled.

Pollsters say there is a reason for this inkling towards revolution, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it involves a constitutional right that has become increasingly more of a contested issue among members of Congress and regular citizens alike in recent month. At the heart of this issue, suggests PublicMind, is the gun control debate that has rekindled discussion of the Second Amendment since last year’s Aurora, Colorado and Sandy Hook, Connecticut shootings. According to the results of a second question asked during the study, 73 percent of Democrats say Congress needs new gun laws to protect Americans from gun violence, but 65 percent of Republicans are against any changes whatsoever to current legislation..

If there was a bipartisan moment after Sandy Hook to pass gun control legislation, it’s past,” Fairleigh Dickinson professor of political science Dan Cassino writes in the report that accompanies the poll. “Partisan views have strongly re-asserted themselves, and there’s no sign that they’ll get any weaker.”

The differences in views of gun legislation are really a function of differences in what people believe guns are for,” Cassino adds. “If you truly believe an armed revolution is possible in the near future, you need weapons and you’re going to be wary about government efforts to take them away.”

Earlier this week, RT covered a separate poll conducted recently by Fox News in which respondents were asked, “Would you be willing to give up some of your personal freedom in order to reduce the threat of terrorism?” The result of that survey when coupled with similar ones made during the last dozen years or so reveals that Americans are less willing now to part with personal freedoms in exchange for an added sense of security than they were after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Whether or not the government overreacted in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 (and, given the information available at the time, reasonable people can disagree), Americans then broadly supported a vigorous domestic counterterrorism policy,” Alan Rozenshtein wrote for Lawfare Blog. “This time around, a rights-restrictive approach might not garner the same public support — if indeed that’s the road the government intends to go down.”
Or the fact that a minority disagreed with the statement entirely...

I don't get the logic there; it's not like Israel is known for being safe from attacks by antisemites. Hell, the fight over the Temple Mount could quite possibly spark Intifada 3, and terrorism has never been more cool among young Arabs thanks to ISIS.

                    • Oerdin: Since it appears bad MOBIUS is back, one could come to the conclusion that my trolling of you is evidence of my support for MOBIUS's use of bold, smileys (), and churlish invective. This is most certainly not an association I would wish one to make, so I'm stepping out of this.

Regardless, I sincerely believe that you should re-examine your perspective on Arabs and Muslims, because it's kind of ugly.

(Maybe that's why MOBIUS is so offensive. This is not the first time his rancor has caused me to back off from bashing a poster (or even you). If that's your intention, MOBIUS, to be so vile as to force others to stare into the mirror, congratulations. )

Edit: Amusingly enough, ISIS appears to be more popular in Europe than in Gaza.

                              • Mobius, please learn to read. It lists designated terrorist groups, all of the major ones, and breaks it down by country and by group. Yes, exactly which groups are supported varies by country but in total the numbers average 30% to 40% in total. Please start being honest or stop running your mouth if you don't understand the results.
