In many ways abortion is actually more restricted in the UK than it is here (depending on state)...the only reason it remains a major issue is because of the fact that the courts got involved. It would always be controversial regardless but there would be more of a middle ground consensus.
Of course, yet the right wing parties here supporting positions that your right wing despise is already pretty strong supporting evidence.
So? It goes both ways. UK right wing parties support more extremists positions than the Republican Party.

Listing some key issues that the respective parties believe in does not support your point.
