Sorry? You asked a question and I answered it. How is that irrelevant?Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View PostGreat... and irrelevant.
Not their religious beliefs, no. Elected officials are expected to keep their religious beliefs to themselves. You virtually never hear politicians here talking about their gods, especially not around election time. Why do you think we find it so bizarre that US politicians talk about God all the time? Over there that would make them basically immediately unelectable.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View PostYou don't care about the beliefs of your highest officials? Really?
Bull****. No-one talks in those terms unless they're trying to send a message about the current state of the country. Politicians don't stand up to give pure history lessons.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View PostAnd its amazing how bent out of shape y'all can get about your PM expressing a truism.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

****ing atheists. Y'all really have no understand of religious beliefs and how they may effect a person's underlying viewpoint.Originally posted by kentonio View PostNot their religious beliefs, no. Elected officials are expected to keep their religious beliefs to themselves.
In the US you may have people talk about their faith a bit too much, but at least we get how it impacts their views.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I hope that when I die, there's a severe misunderstanding about my intentions that causes a cult to form a many-branched religion that eventually has internet arguments about transubstantilorizaelism or what have you.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

Lots of people are perfectly capable of compartmentalizing their beliefs and I'd be wary of any politician who sounds like a religious fanatic.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View Post****ing atheists. Like I said, y'all just don't get religious believers. People who are actually religious (as opposed to just going to church so they can say they are) don't compartmentalize their faith. They can't.Originally posted by AAAAAAAAH! If anything, so called "atheists" understand how religion affects beliefs more than you do. Religion is intellectual laziness. Religionistas don't have views of their own. That's why they flock to religion. 'I don't have to figure the world out on my own! That's hard work! I'll just rely on the musings of bronze age mystics"
And people like you are more of a problem... people smart enough to know better but choose religion because they just don't like using the mush between their ears... falling back on God to fill in the gaps.To us, it is the BEAST.
