No, they'll understand you're a ****ing human being with feelings. Don't make me get mad at you. TOO LATE

      • Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pretending that I know what other people feel is a cognitive error on my part. But I do know what other people do. Other people hold down their jobs and have relationships and don't require coddling. I do. Maybe they are suffering inside. But at least they're ****ing keeping it inside. At least they're not so ****ed up that they can't appear civilized. My glasses are held together with wire from a spiral notebook and I haven't gotten a haircut in months and I haven't shaved in weeks and my clothes are a wrinkled mess and I need to lose weight and there are bags under my eyes because I don't sleep and... yeah. At least my possibly suffering friends can keep up appearances.

        • Seriously. If one of you is sick, do you excuse him/move the date, or is that treating him special and accomodating for him, while the rest are living their life as adults?

          • Pardon me, but don't you have a job too?!!
Also, did you also not have a relationship for 5 years?!

            • I have counter-arguments, but I don't even believe them. So I won't bother.

                  • BTW about the civilized part,
I personally consider the necessity to wear a suit and tie as an ultimate failure in life but I have succumbed to it more often than I liked. None of my friends or the SO thinks so.
A friend of mine was as you said Lori. Unshaved with rinkled clothes etc. He still has his job and after slapping him (verbally) repeadedly and unstoppably to stop having "casual" contact with a girl that broke his heart he seems to be doing a lot better.
                    Every case is different though.

                      • There's a difference between preferring casual clothes and being nearly indistinguishable from a hobo.

                        • Sometimes the SO, because she's fed up with all the hypocicy, goes to work dressed like a gymnast teacher. (don't know in english. training trousers?)
Who's to say that expressing the fact that you're feeling very low right now is worse than pretending? (for you, personally)

                          Come on.
And you can shave in 2 minutes. If you want.
                          If not, blah **** them.

                          • When I was growing up, I sometimes felt bad. And I felt bad because I was feeling bad because I thought that feeling bad was bad.
