You argued, "Poland thought itself better in 1919". I agree that many did think so - so much so that, like Pilsudski they believed they could take on Russia alone and win. Ergo I conclude that the folks who did support Pilsudski who were a majority at the time, were incorrect in their assessment of Poland's status in 1919.

They were still second-class citizens in their own land, and were subject to foreign domination which has only recently been lifted. The First World War did not change this. The time between the wars was just 20 years - and it is only just last year that their present existence has exceeded this period.

Perhaps the Poles will have their land returned to them that was stolen from them at Yalta.
