I buy meat from time to time, but from the local wholesaler, not the grocery store. I used to go boar hunting, but it's been a couple years now and I don't see it happening next year either. As for quality, we actually grow way better produce than we can get at the store, we just can't grow everything we like given the local climate. I can't really tell the difference between an organic or 'regular' produce from the store, but between anything from our garden and anything from the store, there is an obvious difference in favor of home grown. Farm to table, plate to face.

If referrals from other professors due to successful tutoring is 'shilling the rubes', then yes, I did have help from them and my bosses in getting students. Heck it was a win for them - keeping students enrolled and successfully graduating from college is a huge plus when compared with someone flunking out.

From the director of the program at least in my university. She estimated only 20 percent of the folks on the disability program had a disability that could be proven. 80 percent were ADHD. The main reason for this is so that they could file for separate exam accommodations and extra time. In some cases, they were even assigned a different, easier exam.
