  • I can't believe that someone who thinks that entering into a formalized relationship that is based on trust would think that's it a good idea to question "that trust" as part of the process. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.
To quote the good Dr. House:

    "Everybody lies".

The question that has to be answered, "would I be more understanding if I found out before, or after?"

It's not a dealbreaker for me - but I have to know what I'm getting into - just like she has to know about my disability and the chance of passing it on to our children.

I am very up front about that - I have told folks on the first date before - sometimes even before I meet them. I'm old enough now that, "are you into having kids" will come up pretty quick.

Depends, if it was a choice between that and never having sex, then maybe. Then again it wouldn't be a 1 in 4 chance because there are other ways of reducing the probability via careful selection of partners.

Now it's your turn to answer a question: If the distribution and encouragement of the use of condoms could prevent AIDS spreading completely, would you support it? Yes or no.

      • Great. Find me a reliable source that you didn't edit.

Chances are high that you'd guess wrong with a ratio that high. Say you halve the risk, it's the same game as Russian roulette.

If the distribution and encouragement of the use of condoms could prevent AIDS spreading completely, would you support it? Yes or no.
Support what, condoms? I believe that people have the right to pay with their own money whatever they want to pay for. If they want to use a condom, then by all means they should be able to purchase one.

Would I support the formation of charities devoted for this purpose? With my money? No. Do I think they should be permitted to operate? Absolutely. Do I think they should be publicly funded and that foreign aid be directed towards this cause? No.

If people want it they should be willing to pony up for it.

        Does that answer your question?

That I didn't edit?!?! You're hilarious! You know you can see the edit history of wiki pages right? The last edit was '19:13, 7 October 2013'. Wow, I must have been really thinking ahead to set that one up!

Except it isn't, because the failure rate for condoms is pretty low.

No, I asked you a very simple question. I'll repeat it as you seem to be struggling.

Reliable sources don't change depending on access times.

So then your answer is 'yes, a condom will fully protect me from AIDS'. Thank you Gribbler.

I think it should be legal for private charities to collect funds for this purpose, yes. Would I support it with my own money? No. Would I support public funding going towards charities for this purpose, also no. I think people should fund their worthy causes themselves.

              Way to go Catholics.

According to to Elizabeth Pisani in The Wisdom of Whores it's more due to the way people hook up in their cultures, not the act itself. A person may have several partners on an ongoing basis. They form overlapping webs of relationships. A person is most contagious when first infected due to the body not having any reaction to the virus yet. Therefore when a person becomes infected the disease is rapidly spread to the other members of that persons web, and so on.

In other words it is due to social practices of relationships and the nature of the virus rather than a particular practice. Sure, anal could be widespread too, but it wouldn't be necessary the way she tells it. There are other factors as well, such as the lack of men being circumcised, etc.

Try writing ad copy sometime. I used to have to sell organic food and organic products of all kinds. I strove for that balance, because the humorless folks I worked for wouldn't pick up on the sarcasm.

Critics wouldn't review it, even after I sent them long letters citing the relevant parts of Thomas Aquinas (by which I mean all parts of Thomas Aquinas). It seems some people just don't want to hear the truth about Jesus.

See, that's basically Ben, but much more concise, coherent and articulate. By condensing the essence of Ben, we can "improve on nature," so to speak. We have enough practice that we no longer need to get BK personally involved in the long and tiresome business of arguing with him.

Their rumored dancing ability is actually a sad case of "semen seizures." So you see, if they didn't **** other men in the ass (you'll notice I remain open to other kinds of gay-sex, so don't limit my options here), they wouldn't have to resort to their evil gay schemes to suppress honest musicians. They could just compete honestly, the American way.

No, Eve wasn't created yet and Adam was the generic term for mankind and became the name of an individual so I dont think either was made on the 6th day. There's a passage in Genesis that says there was no Adam to till the ground. It wasn't talking about the Adam God took eastward to his Garden but refers to people, there was no mankind to till the land.

Let us make the Adam in our image, male and female were made - be fruitful and multiply. Nothing about marriage or monogamy in there.

Jesus argues that the model for marriage is Adam and Eve, one man and one woman for life.
The model was not dumping wives - thats what changed under Moses. Aint got nothing to do with polygamy or monogamy.

I love it how you whine about Paul this and Paul that, but when confronted with Jesus you don't even follow him. Anyone surprised? Nope.
I dont claim to follow either, I have no dog in that hunt

But I'll need more than Paul to believe the man who spoke the Golden Rule told women to keep quiet in church
