I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

The Tea Bagger-type Republicans in U.S. Congress simply shoved a list of outrageous, unreasonable demands in President Obama's face, without offering any sacrifices or budging on their own side.

The Tea Baggers KNEW how far-out their demands were and KNEW that President Obama could not, and would not concede to such demands; but the Tea Baggers insisted on them, because they WANTED to shut down the government.

                  You call that .... negotiating?

A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

                  • One of the "outrageous" demands the Republicans made was that the individual mandate in the ACA be delayed a year, which is going to happen anyway now since the Obama administration ****ed up the ACA rollout so badly.

One of the earliest, first outrageous demands was that President Obama gut/defund one of his greatest achievements as president, as well as symbolically rejecting the election results of 2008 and 2012 and rejecting the American majority's votes.

"Oh gosh, you know I think the president will gladly consider doing this."

And the ACA is being delayed anyway for one year? Source?

Well he's certainly not a person, being black and all.

It hasn't happened yet, but it's almost certainly going to. The whole system will collapse next year unless millions of young, healthy people sign up for overpriced health insurance on the exchanges, but they won't be able to access the exchanges reliably for weeks or months because the online system is a complete disaster. Much better to delay a year to fix things than have the liberal dream of universal healthcare go down in flames.

Great. What were the other outrageous demands?
