Their stock has been in the toilet since about 5 years ago. They still have sports games laying golden eggs due to the monopolistic deals with the various leagues. But if they don't make some changes at the top, sports games is all they'll have. Battlefield 4 is rumored to be on the horizon. Who is going to trust EA's ability to provide a decent game experience even in that franchise?
I remember the bugs and server issues that plagued BF3. The game is good now (in terms of stability).
Maybe they can survive with hordes of new, younger twerpy gamers. The console kids love CoD. I'm not sure how EA is going to win back fans after this.
I'm likening this to a sporting event. If your stadium can only seat 20,000 people, why did you sell a million tickets? That's pretty much what they did. If a professional sports team did something like that, there would be lawsuits out the yin yang. Gaming is still new enough where issues like this have yet to be resolved. To us, it is the BEAST.

If your game requires remote server access, then that server is, in fact, part of the damned game. If it doesn't work, your game is ****."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Yeahhhh... I'm gonna watch a movie in the meantime.

I can't recommend this game to anyone, and I don't want to play it anymore myself because I am afraid of seeing all my efforts lost due to server issues. It's a decent game if it worked right, but the online dependency, forced multiplayer, and DRM ruin it.
