That said he would have struggled to do as much damage if armed with knives or a sword or even a hunting rifle rather than handguns.
They don't need to use legal means to acquire them.

Again, why do people like Breivik and the gunman here target these areas? Because they believe they will be successful in their goal - killing children without significant opposition.

That said, as mentioned earlier, many countries with similar gun control laws have fewer shootings per capita so guns aren't the only factor.
And once again 'blame America first'. You're right. Shootings tend to happen where people can target 'gun free zones' with impunity. We've seen it over and over again.

I know that you are pretty stupid, but didn't realise that it was so bad. Breivik didn't go for killing children per se.

Are there any western countries where everyone can carry a weapon at all times? Concealed carry and the like seem very much American concepts. The only countries where your idealised world of everyone carrying arms is nearing reality are places like Somalia, Afghanistan or Libya. Shining beacons of stability and common sense one and all.

Pure BS. True, you can get hunting guns, but you can't go down to the corner and get a colt 45 on a whim.

Well less strict than the uk where sports shooters can't get hold of handguns. Obviously automatic weapons are banned.

Then you are wrong - I certainly blame the mindset of US for this, but if they think it's an acceptable loss then it's their choice.

Speaking of automatic weapons I got to work with a Mk. 19 automatic grenade launcher yesterday, which was ****ING COOL! Too bad civilians can't get those...although I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. I also got to play with M249, M240, and M2 machine guns (.22 cal, .30 cal, and .50 cal respectively).

The Mk. 19 with its tripod weighs almost as much as I do and in order to rack it, you have to brace yourself against the tripod with your feet and use both hands. It's like using one of those rowing machines. That thing is a BIG GUN!

                  Back on topic though,

You can't do that in most of the Northeast either. Maybe in Vermont and New Hampshire but definitely not in Connecticut or New Jersey.

Yep there are strict controls at the state borders that prevent you from taking guns from one state to another at the border checks

And that makes it different, from this, how? He still killed children and targetted children. His manifesto itself states that by killing children he's going after the next generation.

CT already has pretty strict gun control so what more do you want them to do?
So you want to increase government spending on the off chance something might happen somewhere. You monster.

Ben, you are stupid idiot and lack a lot in quality trolling - please crawl down under a stone and rest there for a while.

Does that matter for your scenario? You can't go to a corner store in CT and get a gun on a whim, or in NJ. Yes you can do that in, say, Virginia or perhaps Ohio (the closest states I believe where that is true) but that's a pretty long drive. Also you have to be 21 to buy a handgun anywhere in the country, and this man was 20.

Actually, you'd be hard pressed to find a corner store that sells handguns. Wal-mart sells rifles and shotguns but for the most part only gun stores sell handguns.
