Yes it makes you a ridiculous, sad little racist. I ask again, which previous white presidents did you ask for proof that they 'earned' their scholarships or other educational achievements?

I think when you're attempting to pummel your opponent with, you were raised wealthy and that somehow makes you unsuitable to be president, then he's opening the door for it to become a sob story competition. Just saying. While I'll agree that Mitt had it easier due to the his wealthy background, that doesn't mean that he didn't work hard for his success or that Obama's background made it as hard for him as he'd like everyone to believe.

Who cares? Since when do either of their life stories matter to you? That's a canard, the only real thing you care about is the fact that you agree with Obama and disagree with Mitt Romney. You take shortcuts by trying to invalidate Mitt Romney by his background when that isn't what you actually care about. If the nominee had been Mitch Daniels or Jon Huntsman you would be finding some other fig leaf reason to say he can't be president.

So how are you proposing to conjure medical resources that simply don't exist?

He's suggesting we make the system more efficient to provide lower cost medical resources, which other countries have done better than us in various respects. Obviously everyone can't have their own personal doctor and nurses in house 24/7, but we can certainly do a much better job at making necessary health care accessible than we are. (Whether through a public or private system. Both can be better than the system we have.)

His parents divorced at 3, his mother moved around the world, his father died when he was 21 after basically never seeing him. None of this is 'OMG worst life ever!', but he had a pretty tough time growing up, and it seems meanspirited in the extreme to try and argue against that.

When it comes down to it though, this isn't a sob story competition. The only reason a certain group of people (and no I don't mean you) choose to attack Obama on this sort of thing, is because they have real issues with the idea of a black man succeeding on merit. It's the exact same reason they endlessly prattle on about college transcripts.

No they didn't you ****ing liar. Bush refused to release his, but they were leaked to the press by someone. Kerry didn't until after he lost the 2004 election. Gore's was also leaked.

Given that his grandmother (white), cared for him, provided for him and looked after him, this statement is extraordinarily ungrateful.

Actually we're not. It's the Obama camp that is doing that. I'm just saying that if the Obama camp is going to go that route, they should expect others to look at his background with a bit more scrutiny and not whine about it when it happens. And I believe that neither's upbringing is relevant in terms of suitability to be president.

Actually I wouldn't in Hunstmans case, I would probably be supporting his candidacy instead of Obamas. That would depend on how far he felt he had to sell out to the right to get the nomination. He lost my respect a fair bit when he agreed with Ryans plan despite it running against a lot of his previous beliefs.

Accusing the woman who raised you of being a racist, after she's died, is extraordinarily courageous. It shows that Obama has the stones to backstab anyone who does him good.

This sounds like an admission of my point--you will come up with these canards against the candidates you disagree with, meaning, you don't really care about their backgrounds but the issues. This is lazy debating.

It tends to be masked because of how much I abhor the modern extremist GOP, but I'm not a particular fan of Obama. There are a raft of positions which they can oppose him on based on reality and things he's actually done. Instead we get this constant bull**** about Kenya, muslims, how he supposedly didn't earn his scholarship etc, all of which has exactly nothing to do with his presidency, but an awful lot to do with racism. The truly sad part is that most of it doesn't even make any ****ing sense, and is frequently contradictory. It's just crazy, racist people throwing as much crazy **** as they can think of and hoping that the quantity will give it some legitimacy.

Huntsman is virtually identical to Romney in family, personal background, religion, political resume, and policy. He supports school vouchers. He enacted a flat tax in Utah and supports the elimination of taxes on capital gains and dividends.

Either your "support" for Huntsman was transparent pandering, or it was so misinformed that it was completely intellectually irrelevant.
