Incidentally "Krauthammer" is a brilliant name. A band should name themselves that, specifically a gay German Industrial band entirely made of of leather-clad Alpha Male queers. I'd buy everything they released.

Anyway, Romney is going because he a made a series of statements during the primaries that have made people question his foreign policy expertise. He's also hoping to cash in on the same wave that Obama did when he made his foreign visits during his campaign. The problem is that he is Romney, even his he has a foreign policy he lacks the means to present it. The whole thing is poorly conceived. Those who don't care about foreign policy won't be swayed either way. Those that do are firmly in Obama's court thanks to Hilary. The best Romney could hope for is to show up and not make a scene, and he couldn't even do that right.

The bright spot is that none of the people who follow the British press intently will be voting in the US election.
They haven't been poorly treated by the current administration. That's just a bull****storm whipped up by right wingers on a crusade to destroy Obama at all costs and their retarded followers.

Are you channeling Pfeiffer's "fact" checks here?

The British press had the knives out for Romney before he even got there, judging by the completely fabricated "anglo-saxon" story. Considering that Obama removed the Churchill bust from the White House and sent the Queen an iPod full of stuff that can't be played on PAL televisions, who's judging?

So we've really got to congratulate Mitt for alienating an entire nation in record time. He has now been titled "The American Borat".
Oh, pish. You just hate Romney. Obama could call you all fascist imperialists and blame you for the death of his grandfather, and you'd never report that 'Britain hates him'. Bias much?

The bit on Romney? Closest I saw...

The whole point is to show appreciation for close allies, something the current president has conspicuously failed to do.

                      By insulting them? Well done.

How many votes do they have btw?

You can't have it both ways. You can't say he was going to show he knows how to be statesmanlike and then say it doesn't matter when he demonstrates he isn't up to the task.

The purpose of the trip was to burnish his ability to appear statesmanlike, yes. The question of the long term damage his gaffe during the UK portion of this might have to the health of his campaign (provided he avoids shooting himself in the foot during the other stops) is an open question but I lean toward it being minimal.

That's fair enough. Minimal is not nothing.

Something tells me he has lots of ammo left for further foot shooting.

He's in Israel now. Will he have the common sense to avoid mentioning that as a Mormon he considers himself to be Jewish too? Hopefully he'll avoid mentioning the post-humous enrollment of Jews into the LDS.
