Fine. On what basis have I taught something that is incorrect?I would tend to disagree you.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

 There is that . .

There is also a judgementalism and a very big "abide by the rules" streak in you, Ben, which is exactly what Jesus was rebelling against with the Pharisees.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Well, that's not the same as saying that I've taught something incorrect. You don't like how I present things, not what is presented. There is also a judgementalism and a very big "abide by the rules" streak in you, Ben, which is exactly what Jesus was rebelling against with the Pharisees.

So I haven't taught something incorrect?Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Pendantism is also a hallmark of the Pharisees... btw, the point of Jesus's harranging against the Pharisees was that they hadn't taught anything incorrect, but were focusing on entirely the wrong thing.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

It's likely that you wouldn't even know that a person named Jesus existed if it weren't for the Apostle Paul. You really made an idiotic statement here.Originally posted by Bugs ****ing Bunny View PostI strongly suspect Jesus would be far more embarrassed of Saul of Tarsus. And you.I drank beer. I like beer. edit: Actually there's at least one difference in what Jesus taught. It's to love your enemy.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

There's no requirement to be a pacifist. There are things believing Christians can disagree on, and pacifism is one of them.No it isn't.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Imran, have I taught anything that is incorrect? It's a yes or no answer. You can call me names all you like, but please answer the question.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

No it isn't. The words of the Lord can not be dismissed. Turn the other cheek. Love your enemy. etc...Originally posted by Ben Kenobi View PostThere's no requirement to be a pacifist. They were teaching slavish adherence to the law and they were following the law - but their hearts weren't fully involved in loving God.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostNo. They weren't doing what they were teaching.

Jesus added a number of things to the law - but the Pharisees were following the law as written, but not its spirit.edit: Actually there's at least one difference in what Jesus taught. No Jesus took particular issue with the way they followed the law and didn't follow the law. The biggest issue was with there disobedience regarding the Sabbath Year.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View PostThey were teaching slavish adherence to the law and they were following the law - but their hearts weren't fully involved in loving God.
