It starts with the individual and then it's up to the church. Believe it or not, I considered going into the priesthood. I went to summer camp at a seminary where all the Camp counsellors were students there. After watching them for 3 summers I figured out that it was a real bad idea.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Remember rah, I deal with plenty of ex-Catholics, and almost all of them have the same story as you.

It's all about the calling. It's either there or it's not. And if it's not, you shouldn't be a priest. That's why I'm not one and I have no interest in becoming one. I simply don't have the calling from God to become one.

I also feel that my calling is marriage. I've been asked that question many times by some very nice girls, and always it's the same answer - no, and I want to get married and have kids. Can be frustrating at times!
