Kid, there are many things that I don't know about. But as stupid and painfully ignorant as I am, I'm a shining beacon of genius compared to your flickering candle.

Immigration is good. It is healthy. It is indicative of a robust and growing economy. And it makes people richer. If you don't understand that, it's cool. We all know you're a ****ing idiot. We love you anyways.

You can't have a first world nation with a third world population. It is simply true that importing workers with lower average productivity, will reduce average productivity of your nations workers. From what I recall Gini coefficient over 0.3 and especially 0.4 have a robust correlation with lower levels of social trust and instability, importing an underclass is thus very risky business.

Of course if you are very rich and can afford to live away from the slums, this is just great because, not only do you get a better maid, you can feel better than low class people because of their bigotry (you see concern over Mexican fruit pickers is Racist, while competition from Indian Programmers is a valid and understandable concern) and the native former middle class will suddenly and mysteriously find itself much less enthusiastic about stuff like a welfare state and will basically start vigorously voting against their interests. They'll work hard to get nominally right wing candidates that you've bought and provide will you with tax loopholes while the newly imported identify voting block votes nominally left candidates that (you've also bought) that provide you with yummy government patronage, subsidies, favourable regulations not to even mention jobs in "advising" and various NGO's for your other less than talented daughter/son, stopping them from being as downwardly socially mobile as they deserve to be.

My position train and educate the people(whatever country you may live in) before we start looking outside the borders to employ people.
Consider this also in my job, I'm willing to risk my life for less than $25.00 per hour. At that price point a lot of Police Officers are disgruntled. I really believe that there are legal citizens out there willing to take the job for about $13.00 per hour. I further believe that you could probably import Mexican Police to do the job for even cheaper. But just because it's cheaper does not make it better and it also does not make it fair. My life is worth more than $25.00 per hour and it only takes a fraction of that to cease my earning potential if you know what I mean. So the idea of finding the cheapest labor is not always fair to the workers.

The death rate of police officers on the job is approximately 18 per 100 000 per year. The death rate of all workers is approximately 3.5 per 100 000 per year. The 14.5 extra deaths, at ~6MM$ per gets you to 87MM$ per 100 000 per year, or 870$ per year per cop.

This danger premium is generally considered to already be baked into the salaries paid to various workers. Because police officers are generally unionized, I would assume that they are probably overpaid. As recall there is some empirical work which suggests that unionization raises wages in the unionized industry by about 15% (incidentally, similar to the premium extracted by certification requirements, i.e. unions for the upper and upper-middle class).

You're really stupid. I actually like my job and I'm not whining about it. How you can take what I said and turn it into something else makes you a total *****. All Police are not a part of a union. I wanted to be a Police Officer. I did not settle for being a Police Officer. Still my life and almost any other life is worth more than $25.00 per hour.
