For example, Genesis mentions Abraham leaving his hometown UR of the Chaldeans, it is probably the Southern Mesopotamian UR, that used to be a Sumerian City. Much later, southern Mesopotamia came to be populated by semitic Chaldeans and was known as Chaldea.
If Abraham lived around 1600 before Christ (I am supposing he existed, I believe he existed since I am religious) and the Chaldeans arrived to Southern Mesopotamia and entered History in the 8th century, then probably Genesis was written many many centuries after Abraham by some scribe in the Kingdom of Judah or Israel.
Do you agree with that?
I believe scripture is holy and inspired, but it is not God, and God is not a ventriloquist who takes control of people and forces them to write books.
