Because you didn't - you said that you would quote scripture, nothing more. That accomplishes nothing, because your minister or other congregation members will apply their sane interpretation to the passage, while you will apply your insane interpretation, and nothing will be achieved. You MUST tell them about your interpretation of the passage - you must say "I worship the bible as god." Will you agree to do this - will you agree to say "I worship the bible as god."
