Do you know what a standard is? You have 1 minute to answer.Originally posted by loinburger View PostYou have consistently lied about the beliefs of everybody else who has posted in this thread, and yet you "don't lower the standard"? If violating the ten commandments (specifically the one about bearing false witness) doesn't qualify as "lowering the standard," then I shudder to think what would lower the standard in your mind.I drank beer. Yes I do. Apologies for missing the deadline. You have ten seconds to acknowledge this post (although I will consider it a failure if you double-post).Originally posted by Kidicious View PostDo you know what a standard is? You have 1 minute to answer.
Do you consider it moral to lie about others? If the answer is no, then why have you lied about the beliefs of almost everybody who has posted in this thread? If the answer is yes, then which other commandments do you consider to be invalid?<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

If you don't believe the first answer why do you want another?Originally posted by loinburger View PostYou've said in this thread that the bible is god and that you worship it. Because if you merely quote scripture to members of your church (without telling the church members of your interpretation of the scripture) then you acknowledge that your interpretation of scripture may be incorrect. I want to know if you would tell members of your church that you interpret scripture to say that the bible is god and that you worship the bible accordingly.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostIf you don't believe the first answer why do you want another?
Will you tell members of your church "I believe that the bible is god"? If not, why not? Why are you willing to insult other Christians over your scriptural interpretation if you aren't even willing to tell members of your church about your scriptural interpretation?<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

Say wha? Where did that come from?Originally posted by Kidicious View PostI'm not the right kind of christian. But then I don't lower the standard. It seems that you and Imran don't like the standard high and your argument is "the standard is low because you couldn't reach it if it were high." Right?

Where have I lied in this thread? Please quote the post in question. If you can't then I'll consider this proof that you are a liar in turn.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostSince you asked, yes you are immoral .No, the standard should be "good people don't own slaves."Do you think this standard is proper: good christians don't own slaves?<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

Did you select that particular verse to imply that the Word is no longer God somehow, or are you just quoting one random part of John 1:1 verbatim? In either case, it wouldn't hurt you to answer Loin directly.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostI would say, "the Word was God"

You're still surprised that Kid is libeling other Christians? It's practically second nature to him at this point.Originally posted by Elok View PostSay wha? Where did that come from?
Oh whoops, they're not Christians, they're "hacks." So I guess lying about them is okay in that case.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

I've never been to a church where Itg was neccessary to explain, "the Word was God." Appearantly there is some interpretation that I don't understand, but you do. And you won't tell me.Originally posted by loinburger View PostBecause if you merely quote scripture to members of your church (without telling the church members of your interpretation of the scripture) then you acknowledge that your interpretation of scripture may be incorrect. I have already explained the interpretation, as have others, so once again you are lying.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostI've never been to a church where Itg was neccessary to explain, "the Word was God." Go to church tomorrow and tell your minister that you believe that the bible is god and that you worship the bible. Worst case he should say "yeah, duh," and no harm done, right? If you aren't willing to do this, then please explain why not.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

We have all been basically shouting the correct interpretation at you, repeatedly over the past six pages or so of discussion (roughly; I have not actually counted so I could be off): "The Word" refers to Christ and not the Bible. This interpretation is supported by patristics, linguistics, and the Bible itself. You say that The Word refers to the Bible and Christ in some combination, depending on when we ask you. You have offered no support for this interpretation except that you think our brains naturally associate "word" with "Bible." Which was certainly not the case with the original Greek word logos, and isn't the case with me.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostI've never been to a church where Itg was neccessary to explain, "the Word was God." Kid: If you asked me to go to my secular humanist buddy and say "I don't believe in god and evolution is awesome," then I wouldn't hesitate to do so. I don't understand why you continue to dance around your belief that the bible is god - it should be a simple matter to confirm your belief with others of a similar mind.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures
