Furthermore, a couple of points: 1. I think most people who live in the deep south usually call it the War Between The States if they think Civil War sounds too anti-southern. There aren't that many people still butthurt enough about it to claim it was Northern aggression.

    2. It's the war of northern aggression, no one calls it the war of yankee agression.

Ben is a confusing person. He has no ties to the south aside from living in ****ing San Antonio for all of a year, but he sympathizes with the Confederacy and is an apologist for all forms of bigotry. Actually, those two might be connected. Ben, my only conclusion can be that you're a racist, ignorant buffoon. If you were born in Mobile, Alabama I'd probably just say you were an ignorant buffoon for being a Confederate apologist.
Isn't it odd that he's constantly switching between jingoistic American nationalism and sympathizing with traitors who were protecting enslavement of human beings?

It wouldn't be as odd if he wasn't actually a Canadian.

PS I understand this is a troll but I think you need to describe the Confederacy in terms slightly more nuanced than "traitorous". They weren't traitors to their states...

Of course they betrayed their states. Slavery was bad for the south (except for the small minority who held lots of slaves, of course) and taking up arms to protect it ruined their states by bringing in invading armies. Regardless of the outcome of the war they were ****ing up their homeland.

Of course, and that's how it turned out in the Civil War. The only rights you actually have are the ones you're willing to defend and uphold.
          John Brown did nothing wrong.

That's what Yankees are, northerners. And yes, the South exercised, lawfully, their right to secede from the north through the votes of their respective state legislatures to leave the union of the United States of America. Calling the largest and bloodiest war on American Soil, 'Civil' is a misnomer. Nor was it insurrection. Insurrection is the unlawful rebellion against civil authority. Each of the state legislatures designated to be the representatioves of their respective states, voted to leave.

Furthermore, a couple of points: 1. I think most people who live in the deep south usually call it the War Between The States if they think Civil War sounds too anti-southern. There aren't that many people still butthurt enough about it to claim it was Northern aggression.
What would you know about the South, HC?

            Ben is a confusing person.
It's not that hard, if you know anything about British Columbia WRT Canada. I believe very strongly that provinces should have more rights and power over the federal government. The argument that a state has the right to secede from the US, is the exact same policy, just applied to the US.

He has no ties to the south aside from living in ****ing San Antonio for all of a year
Actually, yes, I have ties here. I intend to remain here, and at earliest opportunity, apply for citizenship and renounce my Canadian citizenship.

            he sympathizes with the Confederacy
I sympathize with the cause of the individual right of any state, to leave the united states of america, if the people themselves desire to go. That applies just as much to say, New York, as to Texas. Insofar as the goals of the Confederacy were devoted to the defense of said right, I support them.

and is an apologist for all forms of bigotry.
On the contrary. I come from a country that freed their slaves long before the North ever did. Why they chose to enshrine in their constitution the right to own slaves, brought about the tragedy of the War of Northern Aggression, if you prefer that term.

Ben, my only conclusion can be that you're a racist, ignorant buffoon.
Because a Wealthy, and well-informed resident of the state of Virginia finds my appeal for states rights to be prejudiced?

If you were born in Mobile, Alabama I'd probably just say you were an ignorant buffoon for being a Confederate apologist.
That is because despite living in the Commonwealth of Virginia (last I checked part of the Confederacy), you are the only prejudiced one here.

HC, I encourage you do to as I did, to travel outside of your bathrooms and get a sense of what the world truly is. If you believe that the good men and women of Alabama are ignorant just because they live in the South, then the cure for this is travel.

Heh, you aren't the only one who finds that odd. But I find that odd myself in retrospect.

However, I don't believe the divide is all that great between a Canadian arguing for the rights of Western Canada to be all that different. Also, remember that the Canadian senate is neither elected nor representative.

I actually find that there is far more similarities between the people that I grew up with and the people here in Texas, than between the people I went to school with in the exact same town.

I've seen the national guard and how they are inferiorly equiped vs the Federal Army. They don't stand a chance.

Personally, I think it would be good to kill some Republican rebel scum just because it would result in the bastards seeing in no uncertain terms exactly how inferior they are. **** all southerners and **** all Republicans. Further more, most people in the national guard tend tend to be nationalists. I'd bet Rick Perry and his fellow retards would find themselves without an Army at all.

                • Also, HC.

Look up the United Empire Loyalists sometime.

The Yankees kicked my ancestors out of America because we loved the Queen too much and wouldn't rebel against her. Hearing Yankees argue that insurrection is bad, is a laugh. Insurrection is perfectly ok when devoted to the cause of 'Liberty.' That is one thing the UEL have in common with the South.

Those who are not can prove it by joining the Federal Army. If not, well, **** them.

Yeah... that makes sense because we need millions more soldiers. Oh wait, no we don't.

Were the united empire loyalists actually kicked out? I though they just got mad and decided to leave.

They were kicked out and the Yankees took their property.
