I have never played fantasy baseball. Berz, has been trying for years to get me to play.

Berz asks me to join, I say no. Find someone else. Rinse, repeat. Rinse repear.

Finally after the fourth time, he asks me to play in the FFZ league. I reluctantly say yes, because I know how much a time commitment is involved with baseball, and the fact that I JUST DON'T LIKE BASEBALL!

I was hoping to get my middle brother involved, because he does like baseball, and quite enjoys it. I get some bad news from home and he's unable to play. Come home from work to the draft, find that I draft last, and that Halladay, the only player that I have any interest.

So I tell Berz, and the draft that rather then continue through something that's going to be a chore and not fun, that I didn't want to do in the first place, that I was going to let them find someone else who was interested. The result? They got off their butts and finally found someone (within a day), who had a blast with the league.

Why they didn't do that in the month or so prior, baffles me. Anyways, FFZ got what they wanted, and I got what I wanted so it all worked out.

Should I have said no before? Yes. Could I have handled it better? Yes. Does rah know the whole story? No, and no, and still doesn't and won't because frankly, he's made up his mind about me long before, and there's no point in telling him. Better he thinks I'm an ogre and take the heat myself.

Denying what? Naming the team after Big Roy? My current Poly team is named after another player (Electric Slide Jedi). Leaving the league the day of the draft? Yep. Sure did. Better then letting them BAPAY me and then walk out of the league. I only said yes to Berz 2 days prior to the draft.

Ming and rah seem to have a common theme. You do something nice for them and they treat you like ****. Case in point. I sent the twins a nice 'retirement' gift when they stepped down from Poly, sort of a thank you gesture for time served.

Look if you felt bad about the gift, at least thank the folks that worked to get it to you. Because it wasn't just me, other polytubbies were involved too.
