The draft story was just not cool. As someone who ran a few fantasy leagues on this site, something like that would have been a complete pain in the butt to deal with, ESPECIALLY if the response was as quoted by Ming. I also get asked if I'd like to be a part of a league, and I say no and move on. Joining a league and then quitting because you didn't get one player is seriously crappy form.

I said no 3 times. Then two days before the draft, Berz asks a fourth time. I don't like fantasy baseball. I joined for the wrong reasons, but left for the right ones. I should have just said no, but I didn't and now I have to bear the consequences of that. I'm still not sure how that all has any business being here on Poly, but you'll have to ask rah about that one. Apparently anything I say anywhere is now fair game.

I've never played fantasy baseball before. I am not a baseball fan, outside of Roy Halladay. You knew this, I knew this, Berz knew this.

You asked me to join for the benefit of your league so you could play. I said no, and then caved because frankly, you're a good bunch. I did not approach you. It was the other way around. Did you ask me for my benefit or for yours? Yours. Not mine. Then you act all pissy when I make a decision that is best for me and quit straight away.

Fun thread

1. Draft thing was completely not right--If you don't want to join something, DON'T JOIN!! If you join, you follow through. THis was a lesson I was teaching my 7 year old last year as I brought him to 7 am hockey practice-- follow through on your commitments.

2. That said, I am amazed at the level of venom in this thread. I have seen Ben lie, twist, contort facts, ignore reality and completely refuse to address when he is wrong . . . but I find it simply amusing. Anyone with basic reading comprehension can see what he is doing and anyone who has been on this site more than a week will not accept any Ben Kenobi statement with any weight-- so to me its all fun

3. I can respect those who have had instances where what is said crosses lines and they get angry or upset. That has not been my experience but then again I am on here less than many of you.

4. Oh and while it was "nice" that you offered a gift, the recipients are free to decline. I can envision circumstances and persons from whom I would decline a gift

Ben, as a poster the only positive I can come up with is that you make for a more lively site. I sometimes enjoy engaging you but then your arguments get ridiculous so I stop (until the next time I seek that particular amusement)
