It's not really white outrage, I wouldn't mind tax money going to these programs if they actually worked, I just am convinced that they're actively harmful and it ticks me off to see good money getting spent on things that keep people poor.

If it kept people poor and actively harmed them, why would they choose to accept welfare from the government? You seem to be implying that you know what's best for black adults, or you have a better idea of what's good for them than they do.

I think the Chinese and Vietnamese have it right. What should be done with post industrial lumpen proletarians is send them to work in the countryside growing labor intensive crops, fruits and vegetables. I would rather subsidize non mechanized labor intensive farms, than just give them money hoping that they will know how to use it.

How does a city attract industry or otherwise recover from the collapse Detroit is currently in with a pool of employees in which fully half of the population is functionally illiterate?

It doesn't. BTW as a result of the recession they closed down something like half the schools in Detroit. True story.

Of course, it needed to be done. They have the infrastructure to support 2 million people but the city now only has 700,000 and falling in population. They need to eliminate a bunch of roads, old housing tracts, utility pipes & lines, etc... They can't afford to maintain all that old stuff so they need to shrink their service area in order to save costs.

That's a good point about the Arabs and ESL, but it doesn't come close to explaining this sort of disaster. Blacks are hell bent on self-destruction. When there's a social rejection of literacy because it's "white" then you're going to have a lot of ignorant jigs ruining your city.

I agree, popular black culture seems so self destructive. Being educated is "selling out" or "trying to be white" while being gangster or going to jail is considered cool all while marriage is seen as not optional but actually undeserible since it might inhibit qualification to welfare or social services. Combine that with sky high teen pregnancy and you have a subculture in a tail spin. That said, Detroit's problems are much deeper.

Even back in the 1950's the suburbs all declared themselves independent cities so they could keep their tax money local instead of paying to support Detroit itself. Of course everyone worked in the city but didn't contribute taxes to the city so you had a hollowing out. The net result was independent suburbs which couldn't survive without Detroit economically but which gave no tax money to keep the city going. That lead to chronic under funding and set the stage for the collapse. Worse, realize most of those suburbs wanted to be independent because they were whites who didn't want anything to do with blacks in the city so racism helped set the stage for this economic implosion.

There are plenty of folks who have trouble with the language that aren't confined to arabs or black people. Why those two groups? I find it interesting that had the same statement been said by anyone else, you all would have called him a racist. Apparently Oerdin is immune.

The English language is one of the more difficult languages to learn.

While many native speakers seem to forget this, English is actually quite difficult to learn because of pronunciation issues and irregular verbs; in English, many words are spelled the same but sound different depending on the meaning. This makes the English language hard to understand even for people whose native tongue is a related language.

Holy crap. When did Oerdin ever claim that every single person who has trouble with reading or writing or speaking in English is an arab immigrant or black? I find it "interesting" that you jump to conclusions about other people and assume they have some sort of double standard if they don't share your political views.
