I guess we could draft people into the foster care system. If your name gets pulled, you're forced to adopt a child.

Hell, there are over 20 million household in the top quintile, making over $80k a year IIRC. They can easily afford another kid and can easily soak up 820,000 kids a year.

So if HC is prepared to adopt a few kids after he goes through college and lands a high paying job, then by all means he can rage about abortions

It's easy to be "pro life" when you:
          (1) don't understand what it's like to be poor
          (2) don't understand what it's like to have to suddenly change everything about your life
          (3) don't think through the ramifications -- where do these children go if they're born? Does the destitute 16 year old mother raise them? That'll turn out well. Does the state raise them? That'll turn out well. Where does that money come from?

Imagine living in Poland during the Holocaust. "pro-life" people who aren't willing to adopt are like someone who wouldn't hide a jew, (after all they have no reason to think 820,000 abortions a year is morally different from the Holocaust) except that no one is punished for adopting a foster kid. So they're even worse!

If people are opposed to abortions so much (and I don't like them, I just think they're often a better alternative to birth depending on the mother's situation), they should be focusing on preventing pregnancy in the first place.

That means more sex ed and easier availability of condoms and other birth control. Also, more homosex and/or buttsex.

I'm sure DinoDoc is in favour of all of these as well.

And yet I don't believe that polls have ever shown that poor people are more likely to be pro-choice; if anything, the opposite.

Here's some ****ing common sense... it's called ****ing controlling yourself and not taking sex lightly or at the very least using contraceptives.

                Duh. Not that ****ing hard.

To resort to abortion is inexcusable for anyone with half a brain and any sense of responsibility and foresight.

I'm pretty sure that abortion will eventually be outlawed when we get artificial uterus's if the Western world continues on its present course of development.

I'm in eastern Iowa, still unemployed. I keep looking for jobs and apply but so far, no interviews.

                              • Abortion.

These are unwanted babies. If you don't abort them, they'll grow up as unwanted children and then adults who won't be particularly grateful to the society that pushed them away...

When it was legalised in the early 70s, there was a commensurate precipitous drop in crime from the early 90s.

Abortion works - why store up the problems of the future by keeping something no one wants in the first place...?
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?
