Well the woman who I asked to go to Lucky Strikes with, she never called me back. This is uncharacteristic of her to not call me for several days. I guess my asking her out has had the usual effect... now she's freaked out and doesn't want anything to do with me.

You're right. If you aren't in school, and don't leave your home, then you likely won't meet women. "Barhopping and crap"? Yes, barhopping. Why can't you do that? Additionally, the "and crap" includes many other things - going to the pool, going to the bookstore, going out to eat (meeting waitresses ), meeting people through friends, etc. It ain't that hard if you put some effort into it.

Well there's part of your problem. Not consuming alcohol - not even a little bit - is pretty weird, especially if it's for religious reasons (I'm assuming that's the case?). I don't mean objectively weird, I mean weird in the perceptions of most people you are going to come across who don't share your same views/beliefs.

We may be getting closer to the root cause of your problem.

And honestly, some of the reason why I started consuming alcohol was to be more social and meet women.

Being friendly is important, going to do social things is important (there are many many social things that don't focus on alcohol consumption), or you could try internet dating.

Somethings won't lead you to meeting many interesting women. Posting on games forums, playing games, playing RPGs/MtG (likely), doing physics: these won't have you meet many women.

My point is, perhaps AS should try dating people who more closely line up with his own beliefs. If his views on alcohol are religious (and I seem to remember him being Muslim, although he hasn't confirmed that yet), then perhaps he should date someone in his religion. I know that I, for one, would never date an extremist in any religion (going so far as to completely blow them off once I found out), and there are even some religions and belief systems out there that are so ridiculous, I wouldn't even casually date or be friends with the person (ie, Scientology, veganism, etc.).

DF may be hitting on some truths here. If a younger good looking guy seemingly cannot get a date, then perhaps there is something that is offputting that prevents the girls from wanting to date him. In fact there MUST be!!


I remember chatting up a cute girl at a mixer in university. Itseemed like she was unable to have more than 2 consecutive sentences that did not contain the words like "since I have accepted the Lord Jesus as my personal savior". I got that she was religious-- not necessarily a dealbreaker. I get that it was a big part of who she was ect etc but she seemd to bring it into everything she freaking had to say -- -- She should have been able to tell me her freakin' major without invoking the name of Jesus.

Actually, I've had me being an atheist be a dealbreaker for some chicks. They only wanted a Christian man.
