I still say get married in Vegas. That probably isn't the cheap option though.

From what I have found out, it requires us to have lived together for 18 months, before we can move together in Denmark. She can move in with me in Denmark if I had 70.000 Kr ready to throw away, but I don't have that kind of money and I'm sure my bank wont loan me that much at the moment

Yeah, those laws are there for a reason, but it completely fails. The laws are there to get certain people out of the country, but the kind of people they want out also has the money to buy them in. It has no effect at all on what they are trying to accomplish
The people leading this country are way to racist

I'm glad it's working out for the both of you, I hope I'll some day be in your situation. Looking back at all these problems and smile that we made it through

She was raised on the island with Mayon Volcano, but has lived in and near Manilla for most of her life
Most danish guys who marries non-EU girls are throwing away the 70.000 kr needed. It's only a new rule though, that they need that kind of money. I believe 10 years ago this was not necessary

Sure, would be nice... love to visit Vegas... but then it's probably going to be cheaper to fly to the Philippines and get married there

Is it possible to fly her somewhere else in the EU, and marry there, and then have her come to Germany and live there for 18 months or whatever?

In theory we could try to move to Sweden, where she can stay with me as my partner, from what I know. Get married shortly after arriving and then move back again after a few weeks. But it's not going to be easy either, it's pretty much only an option for people who work in Copenhagen
But it'll also take about 6 months to get her visa to stay there as far as I know

Right now I'm trying to see if we can get lucky to get a license for her to stay in Germany, which will also take 4-6 months. So we wont know if she can stay in Germany before it's too late to try something else

If she's in Germany and is filing for a change in status I wouldn't have her leave even if she overstays her visa.

IMO, I'd go the Sweden route if possible. That seems to me most promising. All you need is to get her into the eurozone somewhere, and then from there get her into Denmark or whatever.

No offense Adagio, but I'm a bit confused. If I'm not wrong, then you can get married tomorrow in Tønder if you want (well, they are a bit tired of all those from germany that want to get married).

What you are talking about is if you want to move to denmark, but if I understand it right, then you have no plans to move in the near future.

70,000 Kr is 13,260.81 USD. That's steep but not the end of the world. Get a part time job. When I was young and in my prime I had a full time and 2 part time jobs. All I did was work but I could save quite a bit of money. You could do the same Adagio, right?

"Mayon Volcano" That's Luzon island, the island that Manila is on. The big island to the north.

There's a peninsula that connects the Mayan Volcano/Legaspi City area to the main island where Manila is.

From my wife, she's going to ask her filipina friend in Denmark.

"i will try to ask her, they have lots of family and relative thier now it was easy for them to go over there"

It would be best if we didn't have to marry to stay together right now (would be best if we could wait a few years), but I don't want to only be able to see her a few weeks per year for many years... not exactly a healthy releationship

Except that Au Pairs are not allowed to get married, and she's an Ai Pair right now

We will move back to Denmark as soon as possible, so that she can work (she's learning danish right now, learning German is not something she is interested in right now)...

I just asked her, and she said she grew up in Iriga City

I just got some new information, that we MIGHT have a solution on what to do, but I'll have to do some more research before I know for certain

                          Au Pairs can't marry? WTF?

                          That's insane.
