But if the information I was told is true, then I can get married in the Philippines and get her back to Europe with me. Though it will take some time and I have to leave her in the Philippines for some time before she can come back

Unfortunately the information I was told, was about a couple who was going to move to Sweden (for them she should only stay in the Philippines for up to two months after our marriage, if they applied for her to be allowed to go to Europe in a Norwegian embassy in Cebu). How long time it would take for me I have no idea (as I live in German it is going to take longer I believe), I still need to dig into that

But from the sound of things, this is what would give us the highest chance of success

A bank can repossess your car if you don't keep up payments. The same can't be said of a bride.

I don't know the English term... "non-purpose loans"? are usually available at banks for moderate sums. They usually take only some sort of IOU as collateral, right to confiscate salary or some such.

I mean, if he's going to travel to and from Phillipines it will cost him a couple of thousand in plane tickets and other expenses. Perhaps biting the bullet and taking out the loan is the best option.

I think you're speaking of a "signature loan" or non-collateralized loan, that is, a loan where the no collateral, only the borrower's signature on the loan documents.

Also, why don't you have any credit? I have 35k$ available on credit cards, plus my bank keeps sending me offers for credit lines (unsecured loans) of 15000$

I wouldn't want $12k on credit cards, the interest would be outrageous.

It would be high, don't get me wrong (~150$ a month on cash advances...only ~85$ a month on a credit line). But if this is actually love then it shouldn't stop him. My only caveat is that I'm extremely suspicious of Filipina women marrying Western men and needing to get married so they don't get sent back home.

Also, if you are smart in the way of CCs you can often get a large part of it or all of it on a nice 0% interest card... then just pay what they tell you to and don't screw up and you have a nice loan.

My parents both have done that. I have never, but I had offers from my CCs allowing me to (I always thought I should just pay it off instead.. mostly the only times I have a CC ballance is because I am lazy.)
