This perspective surprises me actually. My friends are surprised that I still post here, given that my views are contrary to most of Apolyton. They for the most part feel I have been treated extremely poorly.

I remember a time when you were going to do a poly meet out in Vancouver, with me and Joncha. Have you forgotten that? We were both looking forward to seeing you.

That meet was before the blatant and repeated displays of homophobia. As I said, I do not count bigots among my freinds. I certainly wouldn't travel to meet one.

It's not that your views are contrary, Ben. It's that your views as I have come to understand them are repugnant, and you insist on smearing them in the faces of all who read these forums, repeatedly.

I happened to see some of BK's responses when he was quoted.

I stated previously i did try to help him, but he was so far gone in his dillusional views, I had to cut him loose.

I did try to help him.

But figured the best was was to knock the dirt off my sandles and move along.

I honestly feel he may be under strain, loss of family loss of either his girlfriend/wife or signifigant other, not sure but sometimes these strains are too much to bear.

The whole San Diego thingey where he felt the Chargers were the best team in football, well, I knew he teetered off his totter with that debacle.


I tried to help him.

Think of it like dealing with an alcoholic, he wont ever receive help as long as he doesnt see it as a problem.

I am sorry I was not able to counsel him, I am not a professional shrink, he needs real help.

Maybe someone here can PM him with a contact he can call.


Sad, but alas only so much one can do for somone.

By the way, I am a Christian, not perfect and not judging anyone.

I got my own long series of shortcomings to answer for.

I did however try to help BK, but he doesnt see the need.

My views have always been to live and let live. That has never changed.

What has changed is what you post on the topic of homosexuality, or at least my views on the nature of what you post on the topic. For a long while I was 'come on, Ben, you can't mean this.' I'd argue with you about it, particularly about the human rights of homosexuals. Eventually, I began to take you at face value. I told you off and since have largely ignored you.

It wasn't a bus, and it's single lane all through BC, all the way to Hinton. Hinton to Edmonton is dual lane, and it was actually rather difficult to find a map which showed precisely where it went from single to double lane. I was wrong about that, and admitted it.

I've only been on that trip the once past Jasper, and I was not well at all on that trip. Should not have gone. I've travelled the Jasper PG road many times.

I look at the person for the most part. There are plenty of Catholics I can't stand for that matter. Oil and water. I'll have to count up my friends and see just how many are Christian and Catholic.

I was curious. I didn't know the answer myself, so I made the list to see. I was surprised that the majority of my friends don't have any faith at all. Took me about an hour to decide.

You should have seen the looks on one of my prissy evangelical friends when she came for a visit. True story. Told her same thing I'm telling you. He has his life, I have mine. We don't talk about church and stuff.

I've known him forever, his family and my family are very close. My best friend is his older brother, who flew all the way from Calgary to come to my dad's funeral. It was interesting the looks on the faces of the folks in the church when we brought him to the front pew. The Usher, a great-uncle of mine, and a nice guy didn't know what to do at all.
