FWIW: Siro, it's not entirely settled amongst other posters that your reaction to Slaughtermeyer actually was particularly harsh.

In overall terms, ignoring the leadership change, Ben's not doing anything that Asher didn't do previously - all these issues about baiting people knowing their response etc. was stuff Asher did (and he was certainly not alone, many others have done so too). Taking the leadership change into account, it's entirely possible that Asher's posts since the takeover are in compliance with the new rules, and if Ben's are not then that would indeed give rise to an action.

I compare this place to a pub. If something would risk me getting kicked out of a pub IRL, then it's sensible to get a ban.

I think it's very sensible to react to Slaughtermeyer the way I did, but I also think it's sensible to give me a chill out for it. I knew I'd probably be banned.

BK is a small insignifigant poster who tries to get a rise out of people.

He is nothing and for people to get upset about him, well they have bigger problems.

BK twists and turns reality and tries to make everything a BK vs the world and everthing is attacking BK or making fun of Bk, pure lunacy on his part.

As long as the ownership/moderators allow him to post like he does, which is something akin to psychobabble BS, incoherent ramblings with no reasonable value to assign to it, then he will get treated to the reactions he does.

I got tired of his juvenile attittude, he asked many occasions for help from me on how to deal with people, I did my best to try to guide him to man up but he is just too immature.

For real, he is like a nerd who needs to get laid, not being ugly thats just how he acts.

Asher on the other hand, he spanks BK because BK is a terrible person, attacking gays and values he jumps from bandwagon to bandwagon on deciding which flabor of the month he wants to promote.

I put BK on ignore because he is a classless individual, and if more people did so then we wouldnt have such an issue site wide with him.

If Asher were to put BK on ignore then he wouldnt have to listen to BK's insensitivity and BS.

I usually dont comment on BK but wanted to respond to MIkeH's request for feedback.


Bottom line:

As long as BK can spew his utter ignorance and idiocy upon Apolyton, then people will continue to respond the way they do to him.

I personally think that Ben should be able to post his views... but doing so continually when he knows that Asher already knows his views isn't valuable or useful and gets to the level of attacks rather than just letting others know his views.

I am not in general in favor of removing posters or subjects of conversation from consideration.

But in the specific cases of Slaughtermeyer on Jews (as that is what he always posts about), and BK on homosexuality, the conversation is always the same and has gotten old and stale. It isn't needed, it doesn't add anything, and in both cases continuing to post on it means that it becomes an attack. I Think.

I reacted really harshly against slaughtermeyer but I knew I'd be punished for it.

It was your birthday thread for God's sake. I'm sad to see that Jag got banned for the same thing. I think both of you were in the right, and I look forward to seeing Jag back and I am glad to see you are back.
