I have a list of 18 "accredited" banks. I'm going to crank them through the Internet to see if any have a branch in Tagbilaran.

I found four in Tagbilaran:

Banco de Oro
ChinaBank
Philippine Savings Bank [PSBank]
Security Bank

That's great, big time and hassle savings over Cebu. I'll ask Dolores if she knows any of them when she returns from Siestaville. Better if the one you choose is on our regular route or close to it.

Zkrib, can you do me a favor please? Get two copies of any forms and requirements you need during this process. Likely in the next couple of years I'll have to go through it too either in Seattle or SF.

Oerdin, its in God's hands. I think at this point we would both prefer not. Besides I have some genetic stuff, diabetes and addisons that I'd rather not inflict on anyone else. We are happy having fun with Sho's kids and we are happy when they go home with momma.

It's no use Zkrib, you'll have to withdraw all your money and change them to seashells and coconuts!

He's already got a sizable investment in seashells and coconuts.

I think he hit the sack. He couldn't do much about the banking on Sat night anyway, I think that's when it is there.

I read further into the instruction. Although a retiree is required to make a timed deposit into one of these banks, he is allowed to withdraw the funds to build a house on a leasehold property. Later today, I'll contact PRA to see if my building a house can be used instead of a deposit.

Right now, I have to go into work and clean out my desk.

Although if I can make electronic deposits from the U.S. into Banco de Oro, that's better than my current plan of having monies deposited into my U.S. account, then me writing a check to BPI, and waiting for a month for it to clear.
