Lancer -- I don't know whether you know the answer to this but...

To get the retirement visa, I need to have a timed-deposit in a bank approved by the Philippine Retirement Authority. One of these banks [EastWest Bank] has branches all over Los Angeles, so I was thinking of using it. EastWest does not yet have any branches in Tagbilaran, but it does have four in Cebu. The four addresses are listed below.

Do you know if any of them are near the airport or the jetcat? If you don't know, no biggie. I might not have to pick one yet, and even if I do, I'm sure I can change it.

I don't know if you'll even need it, just posting a link to it for if you do. If the "guy who fixes things" can fix the power jack and there's no other problems, no need for it.

In my basement, I have a stack of great record albums from the 60's. But eons ago, my stereo died. Of course, the world has evolved into an era of CDs, iPods, etc., so record albums are long since obsolete.

But a great deal of the Philippines appears to be located firmly in the past. I'm wondering if olde-fashioned stereo systems are still to be had there, so it'd be worthwhile to tote my records over to the Phils. If not, I'll have to get rid of them over here.

Well the search of maps gave me nothing with the listed bank locations so we'll call and ask them tomorrow, today being Sunday.

You'll be wasting your time! It turns out that the East West Bank in the Phils is a totally different entity than the one here in L.A.

I have a list of 18 "accredited" banks. I'm going to crank them through the Internet to see if any have a branch in Tagbilaran.
