That's true, but while combined they are all making less than one US worker they are individually doing pretty well in this place where costs are so low. Sho says the word is out of Zkrib's fair pay and good food and almost daily guys are coming to ask for work.
I gave the guys a long talk today about Zkrib being a friend to labor, to the working man, and that's why they are paid to take a day off...which is unheard of here. Btw Zkrib, they all came to me and asked me to thank you, and Elmer and Insik got more beer to toast you which we all did.
On a more serious note, Sho almost pleaded with me to work with them tomorrow. Though Tito visits daily he still has not delivered the blues, hasn't shown Sho where to put the posts and Sho, while we were busy the end of last week was getting no direction at a point where he needs to put posts for the house. The internet forum diagram you made is beyond him, and the guy whose job it is to come up with the plan is just not.
On top of that, no permit that Sho knows of.
Tomorrow I have to hit the road early at 7AM to catch a ride with the guys so unless Tina post pics tonight it might be late tomorrow or Tuesday before we get them up. Tina has a final coming in the next day or two so I left it up to her.
What they would show you is 7 steps up to the current level of the wall which can go no higher without the post locations be shown to Sho so he can build them and afterward raise the wall with the root of the posts inside. About that I don't know that much except it ought to be very strong.
So I kinda think that is the reason why there was no work on Saturday, because there was no plan and no instruction and nothing to do without one.
That is why Sho was so concerned as to almost plead for instruction.
So I told him not to worry. By the end of tomorrow we'll have all 5 house posts seated in the wall, the far end circumference wall posts seated and the form started for that.
That should give them some work, a few days, before they run out.
I'm also going to have a little chat with Tito tomorrow.Last edited by Lancer; March 1, 2009, 07:45.Long time member @ Apolyton

Drat. I'm not at home now, where my copy of the plans are. I won't be home for several hours.
Lance, I do recall in your previous Philippine thread, I did write out where the five posts when. One in the middle...and then I don't remember.The next ones were either 4.5 meters out or 4 meters out; with the last pair just the opposite, either 4 meters out or 4.5 meters out.

Thanks Zkrib. I made a hand written copy of that which I carry in my wallet and it has to do with post locations and the length of the house. That's our only plan.
Also, the house is 4 meters deep and 5 with the roof?Long time member @ Apolyton

I just found my earlier post:
BTW: On the support posts for the house within the seawall, there's a post right in the middle of the house; then one on either side of the middle post, 4 1/2 meters from the middle post; and then the flanking posts, one on each side, which are another 4 meters out. These flanking posts mark the side walls of the house. But don't forget, the roof will extend another 1/2 meter out beyond the walls. Thus, the house itself is 17 meters long, but at the roofline, it's 18 meters long.
<----------------------------------18----------------------------------->
.............<-------------------------17------------------------->............
<-1/2 ->*<----4---->*<----4.5---->*<----4.5---->*<----4---->*<-1/2->
[The asterisks are the five supporting posts.]
And yes, the house is four meters deep, five at rooftop.

I'm going to bend over the metal bar in the second story tie beam so that when you are telling me how right I was I'm going to be able to tell you that it can still be done. The metal bar extentions will be buried in the cement and have to be chiseled out but if they're not there one has to chisel all the way down to the tie beam cage metal and that's really not good for it.
The cost to you is a few bucks in labor and a few in metal but if you don't let me do it I'm really going to go into civil unrest.Long time member @ Apolyton
