  • I should be able to get to one at lunch today.
Well, that didn't work either. The guy sent me the photo [which was pretty washed out] as a pdf-file. You can't post pdf-files on Poly.

So tonight, I'll take a snapshot of it, and post that.

Estimated time of posting: About 5 hours from now.

      Not too late.

Tell you how I layed them out and you've got 1 hr 15 min to tell me before I go there with Sho again today.

I started just past the appointed trees on the BBall side and painted for the first post. Then from the outside (the face of the post closest to the BBall) of that post I measured 4 meters and made the center of the 2nd post. Then 4.5 and made the center of the middle post and then 4.5 to the center of the next post and then 4 to the far point (face of the post closest to Tag) of the last post.

Right? However you're down to 1 hr 14 min!

      • Tito had the posts on the Tag side split at 4.25 and 4.25, and because I have no blues I have no idea why. The other posts, middle and two towards the BBall side are like you have them.

The question is whether you want those posts as Tito has them or as you have them.

        • "I've revamped my drawing of the floor plan, to reflect the two-meter steps, which climb 1.5 meters and some other changes. I was going to post it last night and send a copy to Tito, but I couldn't find a scanner that worked. I should be able to get to one at lunch today.

I thought long & hard about your oceanside balcony. How do you like this solution: Each bedroom has its own private balcony, running just the length of the bedroom. Then I shortened the streetside balcony, so it runs just the middle 9 meters of the house but no longer extends out to where the bedrooms are." -Zkrib

          This is great.

I'm trying to remember where the bedrooms are, one on each end? That was in one of the plans.

Everntually I'll get my second story done but that can wait. I give you guys dibs because I really like the fact that you are using family.

          • They should be arranged as shown in Post 246. Tito is proposing to build the last post 1/2 meter beyond the end of the house.

I started just past the appointed trees on the BBall side and painted for the first post.
That probably won't work because of the 1/2 meter overhang by the roof.

IIRC, the distance between the two trees nearest the seawall is 19 meters or maybe a little more. I suggest finding the halfway point between them and making this the halfway point of the house.

            • In you email to Tito you might want to mention to get the permit using the existing plans. Once we have that we'll do what we want. He can draw simple plans on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets like the one he has that show the posts @ 4.25. Those simple plans could get us done, no need to wait on the draftsman every time.

              Just an idea.

Right. There's a four-meter guest room; then a two-meter wide stairwell; then a two-meter wide bathroom; then a four-meter wide office; a meter for closetspace; and the four-meter wide master bedroom.

                        Fixed.

Then that should work. As long as no more trees get chopped down, Ill be happy.

                          • ...and sometime, we must discuss water heaters.

                            • Yeah, my 1.2 and 1/2 is quite a different thing.

Water heaters? You mean the kind that heat water? They're good, particularly if you have some water and its not warm enough. Anything else you want to discuss about them?

Found full sized water heaters...Iirc they're at Citi Hardware by the airport. Want one? Alternately they commonly use the one at our shower in the upstairs CR.

Yeah. Although I don't need a hot water heater...because the water's already hot...I will need a cold water heater.

The type you have upstairs in Jagna would here be called, an "on demand" water heater. I figured on something like that for the laundry room.

But for the rest of the house, I'm wondering if I should get three "on demand" water heaters or get one large one, which would provide water to the upstairs bathroom, the downstairs bathroom, and the kitchen. I did purposely put the three rooms close together, to minimize the pipe required. The upstair bathroom is right above the downstairs bathroom, which is right next to the kitchen.

Whadda think: three little ones, or one big one...and if we do the one big one, where should it go?

I think it'd fit fine in the corner of the upstairs bathroom, but I don't know about the flow of water. Will hot water flow from a hot water heater UP to a showerhead?

If there are short, fat water heaters (say, less than a meter tall, but about two meters in diameter) we could put it on the roof.
