BTW: I'm getting an influx of cash this week. Usually I send money to Theresa in $2,000 increments. Would there be a problem if I sent more--I mean a problem either from MailGram or the folks in Jagna? ...or maybe even Theresa; she might not like walking around with huge amounts of cash.
Dolores will talk to Theresa about that and find out. I'll check on 151 later too. We're off to Tag to get the rice field money then tomorrow we'll buy the field.
I'll take pics at your place coming and going. Gotta run...

I thought the payoffs from the corporate bosses went away last year
House is looking nice, by the way. I'm very jealous

Well there's some debate as to whether the markers set by the surveyer are correct. On the way home we measured 7 meters from the edge of the road to the marker. The guys think its supposed to be 7 meters from the middle of the road. It's that way for all the other plces fot 50 miles. I really hope that's what it is because many of the trees will be on the right side of the wall then.
The bummer is that the laundry room wouldn't be in the corner anymore. The good news would be that you could stick another outbuilding in the corner and have a much larger back yard than originally thought.
Dolores is heading right now to the place of an engineer to ask if its 7 from the edge or center?
If its from the center I'm going to jump for joy then get really irked at a certain surveyer.
When Dolores gets back she'll have and answer on your money question too.
I hate going to Tag, but everything we needed to do got done.
Ok, Theresa checked with the remitance people and they will only accept $2000 max, that's the rule. However like everything else they said you can send $2000 twice with two different #s. In other words not $4000, but 2000 X 2..
Also, its ten meters from the center for buildings but you can build a wall three meters from your marker towards the road. That's good, it includes the trees. That ok? It means that the laundry can't be closer and the house is way way good and you can have your big back yard. However when they widen the road yet again in 30 years (they just finished the first widening in 40 yrs) the wall >>>might<<< have to come down. That said, it will be the same distance from the road as a million houses here on Bohol so there would be a revolution before that wall has to come down...in 30 years.
The engineer said don't worry about it.
Your call. I'll post some pics tomorrow that will help you with considering this...if you need the help. But I'll post the pics anyway of course.
Also, its ten meters from the center for buildings but you can build a wall three meters from your marker towards the road.
Am I interpreting this correctly: The wall can be 7 meters from the road but buildings have to be at least 10 meters away. So, if we build the wall 3 meters closer to the road, we could not use the wall as a wall for any outbuilding. That's something to consider. Still, three meters is three meters.

I have a couple of thoughts on the sea stairs. Whadda think?
(1) Right now, my inner sea wall meets the boulders of the bball court at a 90 degree angle. That's going to focus the big waves right at the junction and may lead to problems, yes? What if we build a lip of concrete and steel off my inner wall, like a waiver which is verticle instead of horizontal. That would protect the junction of my sea wall and the boulders, yet? Does this make sense?
(2) I may have a solution to the lack-of-handrail problem. Line the inner sea wall on top of the steps with a layer of brinks to about a meter height. Have the bricks on a slanted foundation, so they has the same slope as the steps. Then, elevate the edge of the bricks closest to the ocean about an inch or two. This would be handrail. Between the handrail and the inner sea wall would be a shallow trench, which would carry any water down to the bottom of the steps.

Here's a cross-section. You can see the seawall on the left, then a little grove to carry water, then the handrail, then the step.

1) Well you have two meters and we can certainly do this, in fact its a great idea.
2) I'd incorporate 1) into 2). I'd have instead of bricks a contour in the poured metal and cement like the one you showed that you can hold on to. That would last while bricks would het eaten. Remember when the really big waves come in at high tide they are armed with gravel which can do some damage. Upon returning this time we had some small holes in our wall patched...

Edit: You're saying the verticle waver can be done, but the handrail can't?
...or that the handrail can be done, just not with bricks but with metal and contoured cement?
