That mix looks a good bit coarser than grout, Lancer. How much of the concrete is being mixed on-site (or are my eyes just deceiving me on the mix)?

..
Most of the misdirections so far have been minor. Some, like the band of decorator brink around the top of the laundryroom are quite attractive.
If there's ever a major oopsie that I can't stand, we can always rip it our and redo it.
And believe me, I appreciate all your efforts on this

I asked Sho about the electric. To get it all we need is to buy a pole from Boheco Electric, have their guy wire it then run the wire from the pole to the laundry. (after which its all underground) Also there's some sort of permit but Sho can get that. Then you could get $10 internet right at the site which you'll need anyway someday and we can teach someone to take a pic or two of the work every hour and upload it to Poly and we could make sure the work is right wherever we are.
The electric we'll need for the powertools anyway.

What part do you want explained? The first sentence was because I saw masonry work in the background, and the context in which I'm used to seeing mixers on site is mortar/grout, but the mix looked like it had larger aggregate than that.Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui

Oh I see, I was wondering why the mix should be like grout.
When they built my place in Pondol which is a 5 bedroom house they had no mixer but mixed it all by hand with shovels! Amazing... So now we have a mixer which I got when the huge road widening project was finished. A nice diesel mixer for $400.
I take it you do some cement work Solomwi?Long time member @ Apolyton

I take it you do some cement work Solomwi?. Methods and techniques still interest me, though, particularly where the most modern of them aren't available.
Yeah, it doesn't take much imagination to see that mixer being a fantastic investment. Hand-mixing reminds me of some of the lab work I did. Fortunately, we only had to do enough to make a few test cylinders.Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui

Waddaya think? With a permit, even better.
The internet thingie sounds good too, but what are you going to use for a computer? My laptop died again last week. I was going to put it in the next box to see if Aeson could resurrect it. If so, you could use it. My best guess tho is that Aeson will say, "Suck the data off the hard drive and scrap that piece of junk."

Sounds like you've had an interesting career Solomwi. Its good to have a basis in construction so that you can know what you're looking at. Then the law school makes you able to defend yourself...
Zkrib, that's a good question about the comp. I have an extra but I don't really want to leave it in the laundry with the cement dust etc. We could put your internet router at my Garcia property and leave my extra comp there. Whoever is cooking is there anyway and goes to the jobsite to bring snacks every 2 hours. No biggy to take a few pics... Then when your place is up we move your router down there.
That means pics aprox every two hours, you like?
Malou would have to learn but when Tina takes over end of next month she knows everything already, enjoys the pics, and has a Poly login.Long time member @ Apolyton

I haven't watched them at work on the mortar for the brick, but it's gotta be a different mix given the outcome. I doubt they use the mixer for it either.
Interesting is one word for it, Lancer. And it's only spanned about 15 years so far.Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui

Still, having pix is better than not having pix.

That will likely change when the house is building. Then the things you're looking at will be much more familiar. Also, I'll be able to see here in Pondol too.
Plus, when you get here we just move it down the road and you have internet.
So I'll ask Sho to have em put in the electric and ask Theresa to put the internet and we'll teach Malou how to put pics on Poly maybe using Tina's login for a month if its ok with her.
I see a future where you can check pics when you get up at night and I can check in Pondol and civ without worries of what's going on.Long time member @ Apolyton

Actually btw you were right about the inner wall, it wasn't there. The pic I responded to your question with was the guys digging the trench for the inner wall. They had just started on it, and it wasn't really there at all.Long time member @ Apolyton
