    • Hey, if Obama went to the floor of the Senate and spoke against the Paulson Bill, and the press covered it, would you think that would be considered campaigning too?
Obama's already come out for it. The rescue bill is currently hung up because of objections by House Republicans.

            • Letterman pounded McCain again last night. Giving the excuse that he had to rush to Washington, then staying in NY for another 22 hours, was not smart. Dave is clearly pissed, and appears more than willing to use his bully pulpit.

What's weird is that McCain has been on the show several times previously and it always semed to go well. In fact, McCain used Letterman's show to announce his candidacy.

Majority Leader Boehner will be suprised to hear of his promotion.

                    • Hmm, they might.

Not a reason to cancel the campaign though. A night won't do anything.

                      • What's weird is seeing Bush treated like a 3rd party candidate. By both parties.

They had a deal before McCain came. It fell apart right after he came. If the R's went along with it, they'd undercut their nominee. So they didn't. Country first

                          • “I didn’t know I was going to be the referee for an internal G.O.P. ideological civil war,” Mr. Frank said, according to The A.P.Thursday, in the Roosevelt Room after the session, the Treasury secretary, Henry M. Paulson Jr., literally bent down on one knee as he pleaded with Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, not to “blow it up” by withdrawing her party’s support for the package over what Ms. Pelosi derided as a Republican betrayal.

“I didn’t know you were Catholic,” Ms. Pelosi said, a wry reference to Mr. Paulson’s kneeling, according to someone who observed the exchange. She went on: “It’s not me blowing this up, it’s the Republicans.”

Mr. Paulson sighed. “I know. I know.”

It's quite amusing. The Democrat hate him because they think he's too conservative... and the Republicans (especially those in the House) dislike him because they they think he's too liberal!
