We can't put a Carrier in the Black Sea. A sub or 2 would have to go with it. They would need Turkey permission to do so. Or they maybe could sneek one in, but that would be very hard to do.

I heard Dick Morris say tonight, that Bush should call Putin up and tell him that Ukraine will be in NATO a week from now if you don't stop the war today.

They won't stop. They would take the diplomatic hit either way at this point and to stop would only be a sign of weakness. Georgia has embarked on a course that will lead to Russian domination and a long slow burn war in the hills.

How much cover do those hills give? Are the Afghanistan type hills or gentle rolling hills?

And Dick Morris is a complete idiot. All decisions in NATO must be made with the support of every member. I remember helping to defend europe in the heart of Germany. With Poland in and if you include the Ukraine any war moves hundreds of miles to the east. Russia just showed their intent, like Germany when they took the rest of Czechoslovakia. We know now. The euros are pussies if they don't trip over themselves to bring the Ukraine in.

Furthermore, not admitting Georgia and the Ukraine last meeting was nothing but appeasement. Russia's actions prove that appeasement is not any better of an idea than it was in '38.

We're in alot better position now however. The Sovs were 72 hours from the Rhine. The only way they get anywhere near the Rhine this go round is if NATO keeps giving away countries.
