    SO.... This will be the thread that it's discussed in. PERIOD. Yes this probably should be discussed in the Site forum, but this is an important issue to the OT, so I'm going to put it here so there is no confusion or many, many different places to look.

    NOW, before I give a chance for the discussion to continue, I'm going to say my piece.

    THIS is our (dan, ming, Locutus, mine, and we don't forget mark) living room.

    We built this with a lot of hard work, time, commitment and many other things. Many others volunteered to help us build it and it's always been appreciated. There are those that think it used to be a mansion. Now it's a bit more humble. There's never enough free time to keep it perfect. Real life has many demands. There are never enough hands. And anyone that thinks we're rolling in money from this site................

    Despite that, we still invite everyone to the hospitality of our living room in hopes of sharing information, sharing our joys, sharing our sorrows, asking others for help, having fun, and even some dissagreements.

    We are not perfect, and believe it or not, I don't think anyone of us has has ever claimed to be.

    You are guests in this house. We invite you, and you come hoping for a good experience. We take pride in that.

    There are dissagrements and like in any house, someone has to make decisions, This is our house so we have to make those decisions. Just like with most fathers, we're not perfect. No one is. But it's still our house so dems the rules. If thats that big of a problem, you're welcome to move out. Everyone that leaves is missed and we're a bit less for it. Just so in life.

    Sometimes we serve up steaks and sometimes we have to serve up dogs and burgers because that's all there is. It's still served with pride and eveyone is welcome to partake. Sometimes we may even serve it up a bit crispy because we're not perfect.

    As far as I'm concerned ASHER ate the hamburger, spit it out, said it sucked, and he could have made it better despite never having truely contributed to cooking or providing the food ever. And then *****ed when his father called him out for hurting his mother's feelings.

    Laugh all you want at that. But we really do feel that this is OUR living room and you're all invited guests.
    Would anyone behave like that in their own living room?

    If you really would, I don't want you to be a guest in my house.

    Feel free to take out any frustration on me since I'm that weird uncle. I still take pride in my house.

    Have at it.

    And yes we have egos. Yes sometimes we're stuborn.
    WE aren't perfect, but we're still your hosts. Deal with it.

    Today I was very dissapointed.
    BTW, you spelled truly wrong...

    Actually also disagreements (in two different ways!), everyone, stubborn AND disappointed...

    No wonder this place is **** when the mods can't even handle basic spelling 101...
    Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Asher, Wiggie and Sloww get banned relatively often, and all have broken rules at various points.

        I honestly don't remember recent bans for first-time offenders. We've sure had some - such as banning Skanky - but that reaction by Markos was not unprovoked. The last time I banned a first-time offender was for a fairly serious offense, that was when a poster made strongly racist comments in an on-topic forum.
        At Poly you don't have to be banned to recieve hostile attitude. I am sure that there is a staff thread somewhere on it. I was told that nearly everyone wanted my whole team permabanned. In the end, I guess, some reason won out and we were merely ridiculed both privately and publically......and all for someone else's bad judgment.

        • Arrian is right. The owners have to decide whether they want Asher to post here on a permanent basis. In my view, his last long ban (for the continual antisemitic stalking of another poster) should never have been rescinded. And that was just one in a series of bans for mod baiting and harassment. Nobody on the site has caused more trouble than he has. How many people love the site so much that they would report the owners to the tax department just because they got banned? That is not the act of a rational person.

          If he isn't banned on a permanent basis, everyone knows exactly what will happen. He will take that as some sort of victory and redouble his efforts, and in a few weeks or months the same thing will happen again. How do I know this? Because it has happened again and again and again for years now. He is a cancer to the site.

          He's a poster whose raison d'etre is to goad moderators into banning him so he can complain about the injustice of it all and make it so that he effectively can't be moderated.

          Read this:

          Or this:

          Feels grandiose and self-important (e.g., exaggerates accomplishments, talents, skills, contacts, and personality traits to the point of lying, demands to be recognised as superior without commensurate achievements);

          Is obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, fame, fearsome power or omnipotence, unequalled brilliance (the cerebral narcissist), bodily beauty or sexual performance (the somatic narcissist), or ideal, everlasting, all-conquering love or passion;

          Firmly convinced that he or she is unique and, being special, can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions);

          Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation – or, failing that, wishes to be feared and to be notorious (Narcissistic Supply);

          Feels entitled. Demands automatic and full compliance with his or her unreasonable expectations for special and favourable priority treatment;

          Is "interpersonally exploitative", i.e., uses others to achieve his or her own ends;
          Devoid of empathy. Is unable or unwilling to identify with, acknowledge, or accept the feelings, needs, preferences, priorities, and choices of others;

          Constantly envious of others and seeks to hurt or destroy the objects of his or her frustration. Suffers from persecutory (paranoid) delusions as he or she believes that they feel the same about him or her and are likely to act similarly;

          Behaves arrogantly and haughtily. Feels superior, omnipotent, omniscient, invincible, immune, "above the law", and omnipresent (magical thinking). Rages when frustrated, contradicted, or confronted by people he or she considers inferior to him or her and unworthy.
          Sound like someone you know?

          If other posters leave because of his bans, then they are welcome to f-off as far as I am concerned.

            I seem to remember you multi-banning for 'breaking' a bunch of 'rules' that weren't mentioned on your old pathetic excuse for a FAQ...

            How many years did I end up accumulating in bans before I finally made Ming see the absurdity of what you'd done...?

            How long did it take to spend the five minutes necessary to update your FAQ? Seven ****ing years!!!

              Same old hypocritical Aggie pissing and whingeing about Asher being mean and nasty (still sore about your mac forum pwnage by him?) and embarking on the very same character assassination you're complaining about when he can't even defend himself...

              Very classy!

                    As if you would have anything worthwhile to say on the topic.

                    You should probably leave as well. Asher is the only reason you aren't the worst poster on the site. And to think I bothered to click on this post to read it.

                              You're far more insulting that Asher ever was. Asher may have been very rude to a few people here, but you have been to everyone here who has disagreed with your myopic views. At least arguing with Asher is entertaining and thought provoking (if you let it be). With you it's just unpleasant name-calling. Unlike Asher, you weren't missed while you were gone.
