Yeah right. Call me when I endlessly stalk someone around the boards with racial insults, or spend years baiting mods. Sure, I can get pissed off at people (especially at the terrible level of argument that sometimes pervades this site), but I know when to stop, and hence don't often get banned.

I'm well aware that Agathon holds a difference of opinions on the topic of religion and it's value to society, but the difference between him is that he can articulate his point, and honestly, his argument at least makes logical sense if you accept all of his premises.

That's far more then can be said of most of the other critiques of religion that float around here on Poly.

Agathon, girlfriend, what you are doing right now is what is commonly called 'slandering' someone. I knew a lot of philosophy majors in college who would always pull this crap -- they'd use AIM to talk crap about people, they'd leave voicemails talking about 'throwing it down', but when the time came to put up or shut up -- to say it face to face and deal with the consequences -- they went right back to their dorm, drank some wine to feel important, and looked over their old meaningless papers that have the love stains of their gay professors' effusive and useless feedback.

If you are any indication, the self congratulatory pomp and effeminate slandering apparently continues for these majors well into adulthood. You know full well Asher is banned and cannot respond to your accusations against his personal character, which include antisemitism and stalking, that would result in a weeks long ban for him but apparently not for you. You have done this repeatedly whenever he has been banned.

If this site wants to retain a shred of credibility, it will apply its standards uniformly. Administrators cannot get away with crap posters cannot. Posters cannot get away with crap against those who the administrators do not like. Philosophy majors should be shot.

Everyone on this site lacks the balls to be consistent and fire Locutus or ban the aforementioned bloodhound, which is exactly why no one should post here until they do something about it. No rational arguments phase anyone here.

Look, this isn't about insulting people. Most posters here have insulted others at one point or another. Hardly any of us, save for people like Arrian, are saints. I've gotten pissed off and called people names, and people have gotten pissed off and called me names. My favourite is when NYE called me "the lowest of pond sucking scum", or something to that effect. It's not a problem, he was just annoyed with me, and I've been annoyed with him. Ben disagrees with me about pretty much everything, but he's a nice guy and willing to back up anything he says.

The difference is knowing when to stop, and not bringing it up endlessly or trying to claim it is an injustice on the order of Jim Crow when you get banned for it.

Sometimes (although not very often any more) I get banned for stepping over the line. Do you ever see me complain about it? Do I conduct massive PM flamewars with mods about it? Do I whine on other forums about how mean Ming is? No.

I usually apologize and find something else to do for a couple of days. You know what happens if you do that? You'll get a PM from the mod saying "NP apology accepted" or something like that. It's called being a grown up. You can ask Ming about that if you like.

The Apolyton moderators are not the Supreme Court. It's a crappy job and sometimes they may make mistakes. That is just the nature of the internet, where it is sometimes hard to gauge the intentions of others. If you think the mods are out to get you, it is more likely your problem than theirs. I know this from personal experience, having been ban on sight about 4 years ago. Eventually, I worked out that if I just stopped doing the stuff I was being banned for, I wouldn't get banned and I would be removed from the "watch list". It's not rocket science. Repeat offenders have a lower ban threshold than regular posters.

You know what... the moderators will even tell people this in plain English. What is so hard to understand.

That's why these campaigns against mod meanness are silly.

I posted essentially the same thing a couple of months ago when he was here, and I have done so before whenever this topic has come up. You can search for it if you like.

FTR I don't think he is an antisemite or any kind of racist, but was just doing it to piss off LOTM. The problem was again knowing when to stop.

So this morning I had a string of idiots on the road to the metro stop. As some of you know, I get up pretty damn early so at this juncture bus/bike isn't really an option for me to get to the train station. I probably live less than 2mi from the stop though, but I'm unwilling to get up earlier than I do now.

Anywho, string of idiots who couldn't figure out stuff like "protected left turn" on the traffic light, and were flabbergasted at the "smarttrip" kiosk at the entrance to the parking lot. Note: They'll only charge you on the way out, not on the way in.

So it's still fairly early in the morning(0530ish) and normally I can park right up as close to the train station as possible. Instead the parking lot is full.

And quite a few of the spaces are taken up by those shuttles made from large trucks where their bed is turned into a passenger area.

A lot of them(I'd go so far as to say "all") are too big for the parking spaces and overlap the white lines. Then there is an empty space. Then another of these shuttles.


You guessed it: Every Catholic church in the damn state picked people up for an early mass with the Vicar of Christ on Earth. I had to park clear on the otherside of the ****ing moon, I got down, you had a lines of *******s who clearly have never ridden the train before in their lives blocking the "smarttrip only express" turnstyle, flabbergasted that the one day pass they bought doesn't work dispite the massive signs hanging over the turnstyles saying SMARTTRIP ONLY.

Then you had the *******s who leaned up against the doors of the train, with idiotic expressions on their face as the doors opened and closed while the intercomm is yelling "DON'T LEAN ON THE DOORS. WE CAN'T MOVE FORWARD UNTIL YOU GET OFF THE DOORS!"

I should have called in sick.

He's not here to defend himself and this is not the time or place for the personal side. Your other comments about the mods is what this thread is for.
