Perhaps when I am not so angry at kid's unbelievable accusations toward me, then we can debate this issue. You are one of the few people on Poly that I believe has a good understanding of racism...although I think in some cases you confuse the remidies with wealth redistribution and socialism/communism...

In any event, "garlic nose" or any other insult Blacks have for Italians fails the smell test, as Blacks never oppressed Italians (the reverse is not true). There are no historical wounds to be ripped open. I have no personal experience with being oppressed on the basis of my ethnicities. I have, however, seen quite a lot of racism directed towards my girlfriend / fiancee / wife.

He/she shouldn't. He/she should be held to equal scruitiny. From my earlier post:

In Obama's case, I like to think he can, but the issue is certainly worth exploring and questioning him on.

Che: I'm just gonna have to agree to disagree for the sake of not troubling myself unnecessarily over the issue of if minorities can be racist. I don't think I can convince you and I know for a fact you won't be able to convince me. Can we at least come to a mutual conclusion on the limits of Wright's truth telling abilities and say that a) the government didn't invent AIDS as a plot to kill blacks and b) those who died on 9/11 didn't deserve it?

I don't disagree with you about the cause of modern imperialism, but it is imperialism by white people. The fact that most whites no longer think of others as innately inferior doesn't mean we don't exist in a global system of white supremacy. The ethanol boom here in America means more Africans and South Asians are going to starve to death. You cannot go anywhere on Earth where white people don't have a great amount of influence, even if unintended and indirect.

Right now, 5 out of 20 of the richest people are non-white. In twenty years, it will be the other way around.

I saw a very similar thing when I was seriously involved with a black lady. Except she felt the stings and arrows of black culture turned against her for not being street enough and daring to be successful. You mention the open hostility gainst blacks from whites when they become successful, it pales in comparison to the wrath of the keeping it real crowd.
