No. It means that you have an inability to empathize with them. It means you don't understand them or their problems. It means that you see the world much like people in the 50s did.

I'm not really hurt, I'm just frankly tired of being blamed for other people's problems (yeah, you know me) based on my ethnicity.
It probably is your fault. I mean if you are not going to vote for Obama because of this it is your fault. I wouldn't otherwise say this, because otherwise you haven't appeared to be particularly racist to me, but yea, it is your fault.

Prejudice based on race is racism. Implying that because it's prejudice it isn't really racism is to ignore the definition of the term racism.

Your "facts" are a list of excuses as to why certain people aren't succeeding. While some have more validity than others, overall, I think its a weak argument which at best serves as a justification for why certain people remain on the bottom rung of society. I choose to have higher expectations than that for my fellow man.

Ignorance? Maybe. I've known plenty of minorities who have risen above their background due to self-determination, much like I've known a fair amount of whites who have collapsed into a drug fed poverty.

That shows that your knowledge of the subject is limited to reading the dictionary definition.

Actually, I wasn't going to vote for Obama because I don't think he's experienced enough. The wright controversy just drives that home even more-it calls into question his judgment, imo. I don't find his opponents to be much better, frankly, but I'm very glad its McCain and not the huckster or romney.

As far as me being a racist, I've spent the vast bulk of my working life (I'm 29) fighting to uphold the constitutional rights of citizens, who were predominantly minorities. I've been in their homes, having to hit the dirt (literally) while gunshots were fired in the street (in Indianapolis, no less!). I have argued with racist cops and prosecutors and I've stood in front of near all white juries arguing on the behalf of black men against their white accusers. I know intimately the struggles that the poor (not just blacks) face. And I have worked to help my clients get jobs or get back in school and try to get their lives back on track. Some do, some don't. I've found that my self-entitled clients, white or black, the white ones are far more obnoxious, who blame society for their ills do not find the road to recovery an easy one. Those who acknowledge their mistakes and want to change have more of a capacity to leave their past behind.

edit: unfortunately at this point, I must bid you adieu, I have business elsewhere for the next several hours.

It shows that I am capable of using a dictionary to ascertain the actual meaning of a term. Che misrepresented the definition of the term, I corrected him. That is all it shows.

If I am incorrect, you would be able to describe my knowledge on the subject in whole. Feel free to do so for verification. Otherwise, we'll have to assume you are a fool who doesn't understand the implications of offering a definition of a term.

So if you did think he was more experienced you wouldn't vote for him becuase he's a member of a black church basically. And that's because you think he's racist. Sorry, but I have to agree with Che here (big suprise huh?) that it's that kind of attitude that has been the real problem.

Losers who just blame society and don't take initiative for themselves is a different issue. You are equating that with the Civil Rights Movement. This preacher is nothing like your clients. I'm sure. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call this just a difference in opinion though.

                See ya later.

No. You failed because Che has much more knowledge than you. I think that's extremely obvious. You are out of your league.

Racism is very complex social phenomenon that isn't limited to a couple lines in a dictionary. Anyone who would resort to a dictionary to understand racism is being lazy and not very serious. Resorting to wikipedia is also lazy, but it is a hell of a lot more serious than the dictionary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism

You basically called yourself a racist. You made it clear that you judge this revered based on your experience with other black people.

Laughing will not make you any less ignorant nor make you appear any less ignorant.

Clearly providing examples to you goes beyond what your small mind can handle and you can't think beyond your own myopia.

No one...and I mean no one of any color that has ever known me would ever even think of me as a racist.

Your interpretation of what I said is so incredibly ignorant that I cannot even begin to describe it in words.

While it took the bulk of the Irish community nearly 100 years to finally escape the ghetto, there were those who succeeded early on. While it took Italians nearly 60 years to escape the ghetto, there were some that succeeded early on. Even though Black people have only been fully emancipated for a little over 40 years, most Black people fall into what would be terms the middle class in America.

Because of policies of last hired, first fired, Black people were hit especially hard by the deindustrialization of America starting in 1973. Without access to previously denied education and with no prior generations having been able to pass on built up wealth, the Black community in America was not in a good position to lift itself up by its bootstraps.

Nor should it have had to. Having been the victim of 100 years of post-slavery discrimination, America had a moral and legal obligation to help Black people out. It reneged on the promise it made to Black America to help it out if it would end the civil rights movement. The movement ended, but affirmative action was still born.

Black people have every right to be mad at White America. White America has been just as much an Indian giver to them as it was to the Indians. Since White America refuses to honor its obligations, it will probably be another generation or two before Black people are finally fully included in our society, solely because of their efforts.
