  • Due to relativity, they only experienced it as months.
I was speaking in terms of proper time when saying it shortened their own journey.

OzzyKP: They got killed, and ressurrected by Cavil so presumabily any aging was undone by that. Also they lost organic memory transfer and rediscovered it shortly before the apocalypse.

    • If they arrived 40 years ago, do we assume Cylons never age?

How would that work with the final/original 5 who were naturally born? Was Earth a planet of immortal Cylons? How would they control the population? Why are Tigh & Ellen older?

One presumes they age . . . although we see no young Cavils or older versions of other models. They would have had to have aged in the colonies since others would have noticed if they'd been old forever.

But yeah, it's a bit of a discontinuity.

We have the technology today to build probes that would reach nearly the speed of light (if we let them), ion drives and derivative technologies. We use it already. It would take more than a few months to reach speeds high enough that relativity becomes noticeable, but one assumes they had better technology than we have.

I've been assuming that the personalities behind Tigh and Ellen just had a geriatric sex fetish.

We most certainly do not. Ion Thrusters have neither the thrust nor the ability for continuous operation to get even close.

Still, as I said, that isn't the issue.

              • Well frak me that was awesome. Started out slow, but what payoff! Seems like we got verification that Daniel (ie, the 7) was Starbuck's dad (too much alcohol will make you start hallucinating your father folks!). And Hera knew the All Along the Watchtower too it seems.

Though Hera is, of course, with Boomer, who, in leaving, fraked up the ship pretty bad. WTG Chief!

I wonder if Ellen was right and that was Cavil's plan all along. Or was Boomer just improvising?

I guess this means Starbuck is a hybrid. So that's two. Her and Hera.

Oh, and nice line about when Tigh went to see his dead son. Eyes open... kinda like Anders is now. And some talk about Anders rebooting... hmmm.

Oh, and did Roslin just die at the end?!

                • Number Seven as Starbuck's father just doesn't sit right with me. Fortunately, he's not. After the episode, RDM confirmed that the character of Daniel only exists to explain the numbering discrepancy.

                        Ah, here's one source:

Basically, Moore says that they needed to explain the numbering discrepancy but he didn't want to once more create a "who's the final Cylon" mystery, so they never went with the idea of having a 13th Cylon model. Very good decision, IMO.

In that case then they really shouldn't have said anything about Checkov's Cylon.

                            • Man, I thought the last episode was just going to be one of those boring character driven episodes but then in the last 15 minutes they hit you with devious schit. Pretending to be another woman then banging her husband while the wife watches tied up and gagged? The whole "is she going to make it" suspense moment at the end, the I love you chief but then I betray you and continue my secret mission, the piano player is really my dad but he's only in my head thing. Talk about an ending full of twists and turns.

I'm now convinced Kara is half cylon and he father was the missing 13th cylon named Daniel.
